One of the external factors of language change is geography! Who would have thought that "carbonated drinks" in different states, we name it differently! 🙃All these time, I call it as SODA and its common in Californians— and I am from the Bay!😅 #eng211fall22
This “Are you a Rebel or Yankee” activity is fun to do! 😅 Shared it with my bffs and family and they enjoyed doin it. 🤣 I am 44% Dixie. Barely in Yankeedom 😀 #eng211fall22
After watching the TedTalk of Alex Gendler, it made me think! It feels like there was an original spoken language back before then we suddenly become divided. That’s why we now have our own mother tongues! Just a thought! #eng211fall22
The theories of language acquisition reminds me of my language developmental class. I wish I knew about those theories cause it can be a good arguement regarding nature vs. nurture cosidering language aquisition! #eng211fall22
@angelapaulinee How I wish our family thinks the same way. All these years my cousins, nieces and nephews were not encourage to speak our native language, since some of our relatives were "delayed in their speech" due to confusion #eng211fall22
@0120danielaa Mostly of my cousins, nieces and nephews were delayed in their speech due to "being confused with the language to speak" made my family believed till I saw the video in our module about one of the myths of bilingual made me think. #eng211fall22
I just found out that being bilingual is not one of the reason why a child is delayed in their speech. 🤯 All these years my family thinks the reason behind a language delay is because of having 2 spoken language— it’s a MYTH fam! #eng211fall22
I feel like one of the advantage of annotated bibliography it gives us better point of view when it comes to writing our research. Also, its like a starter—to avoid procastination. #eng211fall22
Who would have thought from a simple question like “can you give me an apple?” could mean a bunch of things. Using semantic meaning we’ll need to use its 3 components. So what are those? #eng211fall22
