Cody Gakpo spent the last 10 minutes of the Forest game on his feet in the dugout as #LFC tried to find a winner. He was the first one over to the 4th official at FT. He’s not tried to agitate for a move, despite all the noise. I really do hope people get behind him this season.

A group of 150 Southend fans hired a ‘party boat’ to take them down the Thames to their match against Sutton this weekend.

On the boat, they met an American tourist called Evan who was sitting quietly by himself. They asked him if he was OK and it turned out that he had got on the boat by accident and thought he was doing a sightseeing tour of London. 😂😂😂

They instantly took him under their wing, got the beers in, and gave him a ticket to the match that ended 1-1.

All throughout the game the away fans were chanting ‘Evan is a Shrimper’. 😂😂😂😂🦐

I have to say, @EE broadband customer service have been absolutely appalling. I would tell anyone thinking of getting broadband, especially mobile internet on a temporary basis while waiting for a landline to be installed to avoid EE at all costs.

After decades of deforestation, suffering ever more flash flooding, drought, erosion and landslides, democratic Costa Rica took the decision in the 1980s to turn the tide. Since then, in one generation, forest cover has more than doubled, from a quarter of the country to half. How did Costa Rica do this? The government offered a subsidy to any landowner willing to establish new tree cover on their land. In the agriculturally productive areas, nothing much changed. It was simply more lucrative to grow food than to allow the forest to reclaim the land. But in agriculturally marginal areas, farmers swapped their cattle for trees, and made a new way of life revolving around wood and other forest products, small-scale market gardening, nature tourism and so on. Parched cattle ranch after cattle ranch has been transformed into lush, vibrant forest teeming with wildlife. In some areas the forest now stretches from horizon to horizon. In these areas flooding and water shortages are no more. There’s a powerful lesson here for all countries. Restoring nature is easy if bad incentives are replaced with good ones. England’s pioneering new Environment Land Management Scheme is another good example. Let’s hope others follow.

I would not recommend @bt_uk broadband. I realised I had no internet or phone service over Xmas.

BT never contacted me and I repeatedly contacted customer services, once waiting two hours by phone to find out. Zero service for two weeks. Terrible service.

Just watched tonight’s @BBCPanorama. They did a great job with it. Tough to watch and brought back some horrendous memories of the mayhem outside Stade de France, but an important piece of TV, laying bare the shambolic failings of the French authorities and UEFA.
