Restore Britain, Lowe's new far-right party (polling ~4%), was launched in February with £2.5 million in startup cash.

However, a loophole in UK electoral law means Lowe doesn't have to disclose where that money came from, since a party's assets at registration aren't subject to normal donation-transparency rules.

The piece maps what's known so far via public statements from donors themselves, since the party's donor list (the "Cromwell Club," a £2,500/year donor tier) isn't published.

Named donors and why they're concerning:

John Mappin

Conspiracy theorist, Camelot Castle Hotel owner, and early Turning Point UK backer, who publicly confirmed his Cromwell Club membership. He was involved in anti-vaccine campaigning and was reported to have offered guests a discount for posting anti-vax comments.

Jonathan Wong

Organiser of "Abolish Asylum Day" and associate of far-right influencer Carl Benjamin ("Sargon of Akkad"); also confirmed membership.

Miles Routledge ("Lord Miles")

Far-right YouTuber who reportedly donated £2,500 and, separately, posted about hoping for "another Hitler" to lead an uprising by 2039.

James Holmes

Sheffield-area property developer known for a controversial giant Union Flag display, who announced his membership on Facebook.

Ashton Ward

Co-founder of consultancy Eton Bridge Partners, also a stated member.

Crypto donors:

"Walshy," "WhaleFUD," "KROP" are largely anonymous accounts linked to memecoin schemes; one scheme, the "Britain Token," donated over £35,000 in what campaign group Spotlight on Corruption called an "impermissible" source since it had no legal standing. Restore says it has refunded all of it.

Derek Holder and Margaret Hepburn

Existing Reform UK donors (collectively behind £65,000ish to Farage's party) who've also funded Lowe's unofficial and profoundly misleading "Rape Gang Inquiry"; Hepburn, a Monaco resident, donated via her company as well as personally.

Munish Sharma and Christopher Newman

Smaller personal donors to Lowe (£2,000 and £5,000 respectively); Newman also represented Lowe in a failed bid to block a parliamentary standards investigation.

Elon Musk

Not a financial donor but a major amplifier, repeatedly promoting Restore and Lowe on @X; Lowe has earned over £85,000 from X's monetisation scheme (far more than any other MP).

The pattern shows a young, low-transparency party attracting extremists, conspiracy theorists, and anonymous crypto money, with campaigners like Naomi Smith of Best for Britain warning the "mysterious funding sources" show the need for electoral reform as a "firewall" against dark money.

There's no suggestion of unlawful wrongdoing by Lowe himself, but the legal gap he's exploiting is the story's central concern.
