@ChefGruel Really enjoy your post, and I have a legitimate question: can they form a co-op? That is what grape farmers in the Great Lakes did to form Welch’s.
@dilanesper Not Thomas’ dissent, but the reality appears that judicial estoppel isn’t uniformly applied as in your OP? There’s so many fine distinctions that courts rarely use it to bar claims or defenses. Ex/ wkr comp might not bar discrimination claims based on same parties & facts
@anokogam@SonohennoKuma@Goliback1234v The interesting thing about X is that it has lately been showing very specific aspects of different cultures and the conservative reaction (which I agree with) is to say “Preserve that at all costs! Do not let multiculturalism tell you it’s not special or that it should go away!
@dannyconversano We visited France as a family in 2017. I was struck by the entire scope of the nation—big cities, small towns, countryside, farmlands and industry—and I’ve often thought that France and the US could have so much in common if our political interests could be aligned.
@ConservaMuse@BradWilcoxIFS They are completely unfamiliar with the concept of luxury beliefs. “Nonjudgmentalism” and not “preaching what they practice” are what they do instead. Weirdly I have seen this come up a lot in the last 24 hours on X
@kengakusha1 Don’t ever apologize for asking a sincere question. There’s an American phrase “there’s no such thing as a stupid question” (although it really means that “there’s no such thing as a stupid sincere question”). Ask away!
@Stellastars77@jordanmcgillis Exactly. The real problem: elites in all media pushed “non-traditional” forms of families, “takes a village”, and kids’ supposed resiliency along with liberalized mores around sex, divorce, etc. while privately living very traditional family lives. Luxury beliefs are real.
@UrbanCourtyard There are multiple laws conspiring against what is pictured, not just zoning. The ADA requires access and sidewalks that are not compatible with this setup. Building codes require multiple exits and multiple stairwells, ceiling heights, etc. It would be cost prohibitive to build.
