AZ AG Kris Mayes: Let’s talk about that visual of Elon Musk with the ridiculous chainsaw. I don’t think he’s ever actually used a chainsaw in his life. I don’t know what that was—some lame attempt to make himself look manly.
But what he’s doing is devastating people’s lives. Here in Arizona, we now have firefighters being laid off—Hotshot crews being laid off right before wildfire season. The federal funding freeze for a moment, right before we got the TRO against it, meant we couldn’t continue efforts to go after the Mexican drug cartels and fight the fentanyl crisis. It’s insane. Our rural hospitals were put at risk, our Head Start programs, Meals on Wheels—and yet there goes Elon Musk, bragging about it with his chainsaw at CPAC or wherever he was. It’s just nonsense.
I want to connect some dots for you.
What is similar about the four agencies DOGE targeted first? They all intersect with major business interests of Musk and Trump's billionaire cabal. DOGE isn't about government efficiency. It's about making the billionaires richer.

THIS IS AMERICA.
In the wealthiest nation on Earth, children just froze to death in a van. A family begged for help three times, three damn times, and they were left to die in the cold. Meanwhile, billionaires like Elon Musk are out here playing space cowboy, hoarding wealth so obscene it could end homelessness a hundred times over. The U.S. government is casually writing billion dollar checks for war, throwing $14 billion to Israel while its own people sleep in parking lots and die in silence.
This is America. A country where the richest 1% hoard more than they could spend in a hundred lifetimes, while families freeze in the streets. The system isn’t broken, it’s working exactly as designed. Designed to let billionaires profit from war, from oil, from suffering. Designed to keep the poor begging for crumbs while Musk launches another vanity project into space. Designed to ensure there’s always money for bombs, never for the people.
How many more need to die before we wake up? How many more children have to freeze before we realize that this country values weapons more than human lives? Every homeless death is a policy choice. Every cold body on the street is proof that greed has more rights than people do.
They tell us there’s no money to fix this. Lies. There’s always money. There’s just no will. Because suffering is profitable. Poverty is profitable. War is profitable. And the billionaires who run this country? They profit.
