Marathon did not kill Destiny 2 🙅‍♂️❌

A whole list of things ruined Destiny 2 over the years that lead to its downfall:
- PvP Neglect (no new maps for years, months without updates)
- Content Vault/Weapon Sunsetting
- Seasons/drip fed content
- Weapon Crafting
- Poor Onboarding Experience
- Pete Parsons/Management inflating Bungies value prior to Sony Acquisition

Although there were peaks with some of the content releases (Into The Light, Final Shape, Raids/Dungeons, Weapon/Buildcrafting) Edge of Fate was the nail in the coffin after they introduced Portal Ops essentially killing the heart and soul of the game.

That being said, Destiny 2 had a good run. I hope Destiny 3 can come out one day. I will be playing Marathon Season 2 and I am also checking out the final Destiny 2 update 💪 We are playing video games at the end of the day. All the noise going on is just grown adults acting like clowns 🤡

The “I get D3 or everything burns” attitude is sad. The livelihood of hundreds of devs is at stake. Bungie devs. People who are not responsible for D2’s situation, who love Destiny as much or even more than us.
Nobody wins. We all lose.

@Nurfless @A_dmg04 Whilst I don’t agree with the way Bungie has handled the whole Destiny and Marathon situation, dmg has actually been communicating with the player base and asking for feedback.

The Marathon sandbox in its current state is less enjoyable than it was on Day 1 of Marathon 🥲

Issue 1:
Grenades are rampant because the economy changed and access to them have increased.
Fix: Limit how many grenades you can carry into a run.

Issue 2:
WSTR is useless, meaning you are at a disadvantage in CQC if you don't have a Misriah with Slick Mag/Gold Mod.
Fix: Revert the WSTR damage nerf and instead nerf the RPM so it's not just an instant death if you run into one + Nerf the Gold Slug mod so it cannot 1 shot purple shields.

The community appreciates the quick updates but some of these changes overcooked🤠👍

Calling a game AAA slop is corny considering half the people that have quit the game have said that it’s “too hard” and “remove PvP”.

I’m seeing a lot of posts about the Thief Grapple cancel and Slide Cancels in Marathon. I think Thief’s grapple should be consumed when cancelled. Slide Cancels shouldn’t refund your heat, but I don’t believe they should be completely taken out of the game. I think the Marathon community should embrace expressions of skill even if they were not originally intended. Being able to do Thief’s Grapple cancel or Slide Cancels once mid fight rather than spamming it is fine in my opinion.

Some contracts are zone-specific.
Hover over contract objectives on the map screen for info on where to complete them
Inspect weapons out of run (V / Triangle / Y) to bring up a mod workbench
Crouching makes heat dissipate faster

🥊 COMBAT TIPS
Entering smoke fully drops UESC aggro
Some weapons have Z / Left D-Pad functions like alt. scopes and gun shields
Headshots deal 50 to 140 percent bonus damage depending on weapon
Containers on the outskirts are more likely to have healing items

📦 AMMO TIPS
Sponsored Kits come with Ammo Crates
Check bodies for Ammo Crates, not just ammo
Conserve ammo by knifing low-level enemies
Containers on the outskirts are more likely to have ammo

💎 ARMORY TIPS
Faction shops periodically refresh. Check for good deals!
Some items are bartered for loot, not sold for credits
Track needed loot (R / R3) to mark drops in-game
Trade Unstable (gray-tier) materials for ammo and healing items
