RQ is 650 flats in 9 buildings. Developer Frasers has replaced cladding on 4 new buildings at its cost, applying for Govt funds for the 4 older buildings
£150k for remedying defects caused by someone else.
@team_greenhalgh You've stopped responding to us, but we suggest you let Priya know why you accept this is lawful.
And why the govt has done nothing to stop this after the deaths of 72 innocent people.
#BuildingSafetyCrisis
@team_greenhalgh@GlennSeat What are these new "skills" pls? Are you saying they weren't being performed by existing managing agents?
And you've left it to the same bodies ARMA & IRPM to decide these so called skills so they can charge extra for a job they're supposed to have been doing anyways.
#cartel.
Many more (already hundreds of thousands if not millions) will find bills on their doorsteps in the NY. Politics has been frenetic in 2021 but this issue is a drum beat, there all year, gradually getting louder. It’s one of the biggest public policy failures of recent decades.
So @michaelgove how much closer to Christmas can we get before your ‘announcement’ you promised us! More and more people are in this position and we have nowhere to turn. I have received my 3 year extensively increased Insurance premiums #EndOurCladdingScandal 🙏🎅🏼
It really is like another job. And if people didn't volunteer their time like they are doing I don't want to even think about how bad things would be 🙈🙈🙈
#LeaseholdersTogether
Here is the letter. If you know a supportive MP, please raise it with them. Sadly, this is the only way the Treasury gets to hear the real situation other than waiting possibly many months until the Inquiry gets to the bottom of it.
People can’t wait.
Thanks @AndrewChapman50
Robert Jenrick said the Treasury wouldn’t accept Govt responsibility for resolving the cladding crisis as it was a ‘private sector’ issue.
Hopefully this’ll pressure it to finally allocate the necessary resources & funding.
Thanks @BBCTomSymonds https://t.co/SAvMQrGdpC
1/3 This is what happens when politicians let ideology trump facts.
The state must accept responsibility for its own failings before it can expect citizens to take responsibility for their lives.
Big or small, the point of a state is to protect the people.
Keeping quiet about widespread high-rise cladding fire concerns post-Lakanal etc is one thing, but for the LFB to continue to internally assume that high-rise buildings' compartmentation would perform, is a quite astonishing failure.
It’s easy to get drawn into the minutiae about who said what & when, but the big picture is that the BRE, civil servants, advisors & ministers were all warned that combustible cladding was a serious concern, but official guidance was never changed nor building control alerted …
It is very important that @LondonFire & Andy Roe respond to the replies & retweets on this.
Not calling out developers & @mhclg & diverting attention to building managers shows a troubling lack of care in understanding the issues.
Not addressing the #WakingWatchScam is immoral.
Maxi #incendio a #Milano sta devastando un palazzo in Via Antonini. Spero non ci siano coinvolti. Un grazie ai @emergenzavvf che stanno intervenendo rischiando la loro incolumità.
Even @TheLawSociety issues a clear warning against buying flats in England & Wales.
What a shambles @team_greenhalgh! Your dept @mhclg, trying to cover up their negligent building safety regulations, have destroyed this section of the housing market. The incompetence is staggering
Chants of “Make the Developers Pay!” and “End The Cladding Scandal” ringing out outside Downing St this afternoon, as people trapped in flammable flats protest agains the Building Safety Scandal. @LBC
Solidarity with @homes4alluk and all those affected by the #BuildingSafetyCrisis protesting outside of Downing Street today ✊
The government must protect innocent leaseholders from footing the bill to make their homes safe and listen to demands for decent, safe homes for all
Amazing, a project which originally was budgeted for £35bn could now go well over £100bn. It would only cost £20bn to fix the #claddingscandal . Government at its best! Calls for inquiry into whether ministers misled Parliament over HS2 costs https://t.co/KntF827rYv
