This has to go down as a good thing! Today the bill will be tabled in parliament. We can’t allow any watering down of the proposed law. It still needs to get passed but this is a massive moment and positive progression….cont.
I am proud to have voted this eve for a King's Speech that includes a #HillsboroughLaw. Earlier today I also paid tribute to families, survivors & campaigners who have fought for this law to ensure that the suffering of those affected by Hillsborough is never repeated. #JFT97
🔥 Straight from @idlesband: "Yorkshire, best crowds in England!" 🙌
Watch the band show some serious love for our local gig-goers. Halifax, let's prove them right tonight!

Norbert has had a wash ready for the last game of the season and for his masters final farewell. It’s going to be emotional. We’ll miss you 🥺❤️💚💙 Danke Jurgen. #ynwa@LFC#jurgen#klopp
Big post warning! ❤️💚💙 What an incredible experience that was. It seems like we’ve been effective in getting the word out about the need for the Hillsborough Law more.
I spent a long time thinking in private that I’d bitten off more than I could chew with this run. Further than I’d done then when I was in my best nick ever in 2019. A wise man once said though, “be bold and mighty forces will come to your aid.” Below are some of the mighty forces among you. If I’ve missed anyone out, I apologise.
Some thank yous in no particular order. Dom Williams getting me involved in the Hillsborough campaign in 2015.
Steve Kelly showing me the true levels of the injustices that the Hillsborough families have faced. Also for entrusting us with the striking banners in the pictures.
The Hillsborough to Anfield run team for encouraging me to try ultras. @IanByrneMP showing how the Grenfell families were part of the same fight.
Claire Parkin for being an incredible woman and changing my life and making sure the 2019 Sheffield to Grenfell run and this one weren't a total disaster.
Howard from Grenfell Foundation, Leearna, Queenie Caz, Karim and the Grenfell community for opening their arms to a pair of strangers. Grenfell Foundation for arranging hotels, drinks and transport for the runners and us. Such a massive help!
For Kwasi Frempong, Manny Ruiz, Nick Wishart, Dean Bromley, Dean Harris, Dave Brighton for putting their bodies on the line to support me while running this one.
Chris Lam and Dan Kay for showing such love to everyone before leaving us too soon. Thank you to everyone who has donated their hard earned money to @MindCharity and the Grenfell Foundation (@GrenfellUnited). Latest total is £3702 including gift aid. You rock. For example the A List games guys who raised hundreds. When I get back to work I’ll know how many charity bags we’ve had at @TheBHF to help fund CPR. Thank you for donating those too.
Thank you to all of the Hillsborough Families and activists for your 35 year fight for truth and justice.
It was Margaret Aspinall and Sue Roberts who first told me about how the Hillsborough Law could provide a positive legacy from these disasters.
Rich and Helen Moore Parry for sponsoring our shirts - pics included.
The reporters and media who helped get the story of the run and the need for Hillsborough Law Now out there. @MetroMayorSteve and @AndyBurnhamGM for helping get this more press and being instrumental in the campaign.
Parents for collecting donation bags, making the backpack cover and being mega supportive and loving.
Everyone who put us up. Proof that there is a lot of good out there.
Ben Williams for his day 1 and 2 routes that made sure we had good scenery while we were running our legs to stumps. And for getting us over our fundraising target with a generous donation the night before the run.
Overall, in running close to the length of the country, all the support along the way has helped restore my faith in humanity at the same time as realising that, with the right laws and justice, we can be so much better too.
Love from Mik & Claire ❤️💚💙
