The first three images (📸 Say Cheese Media) were taken last week in North End, Croydon, where a member of the public detained a man suspected of shoplifting after he became aggressive and kicked off. BID officers were on hand and assisted until police arrived, with the male being arrested at the scene.
The remaining images are from today, involving the same individual, again wanted for shoplifting. When officers attempted to arrest him, he tried to make off through Surrey Street Market, Croydon. In his dash to get away he attempted to leap over a fruit & veg stall, but instead ended up face down in the produce while continuing to resist officers’ attempts to restrain him with the assistance of the local BID officers.
Within minutes, additional units arrived to assist and the man was quickly placed in handcuffs before being taken on a second trip to the local police station.

This appeal is for a 24- year-old City of London police response officer who was diagnosed with a virulent form of breast cancer which is now stage 4. As can be seen, her only realistic hope of survival is via a treatment that is not available on the NHS. Hopefully, this appeal will raise enough to cover treatment costs + provide a little extra that will improve Shanice’s quality of life at this difficult time.

"It's not the police who need to be retrained, it's the public. We have grown into a mouthy, mobile phone wielding, vulgar, uncivil society with no personal responsibility and the attitude of 'it's the other person's fault, you owe me'. A society where children grow up with no boundaries or knowledge or concern for civil society and personal responsibility.
When an officer says "Put your hands up," then put your hands up! Don't reach for something in your pocket, your lap, your seat. There's plenty of reason for a police officer to feel threatened, there have been multiple assaults and ambushes on police officers lately. Comply with requests from the officer, have your day in court. Don't mouth off, or fight, or refuse to comply... that escalates the situation.
Police officers are our sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters. They're black, white, brown, all colors, all ethnicities, all faiths, male and female, they are us. They see the worst side of humanity... the raped children, the bloody mangled bodies of traffic victims, the bruised and battered victims of domestic violence, homicide victims, body parts... day after day.
They work holidays while we have festive meals with our families. They miss school events with their kids, birthdays, anniversaries, all those special occasions that we take for granted. They work in all types of weather, under dangerous conditions, for relatively low pay.
They have extensive training, but they are human. When there are numerous attacks on them, they become hyper vigilant for a reason, they have become targets. When a police officer encounters any person... any person, whether at a traffic stop, a street confrontation, an arrest, whatever... that situation has the potential to become life threatening. You, Mr & Mrs/Miss Civilian, also have the responsibility of keeping the situation from getting out of control.
Many law enforcement officers are Veterans. They've been in service to this nation most of their lives, whether on the battlefield or protecting us here at home. They are the only thing that stands between us and anarchy in the streets.
If you want to protect your child, teach them respect."

Liam is a dedicated family man and Police Officer, currently serving on the Armed Response teams. He has put others above himself his whole life, and now Liam and his family need your help.
Three months ago Liam was preparing for the arrival of his third child when he was rushed into hospital. The discovery of a brain tumour and a major haemorrhage led to emergency surgery. While he was receiving life-saving treatment, his wife Lucy was giving birth to a beautiful baby boy.
What should have been one of the happiest times for this family quickly became the hardest — a situation no family should ever face.
Liam continues to be hospitalised and faces a long recovery from a serious brain injury and oncology treatment. At home, Lucy is caring for their newborn and two young children while trying to support Liam through treatment and rehabilitation.
Please donate and give the Sealeys love, hope, and support during this time of uncertainty and worry. Help them focus on Liam’s recovery, being together, and getting this good man home:

@BettyBoochichi2 "less back office staff" and there would be "some things that officers will have to do more of"
A terrible decision that will place more burden on over stretched officers
Another important Sunday Shoutout this time over on @instagram for a wonderful page called @silencebetweensirens 👀
Created to break the stigma on #MentalHealth within the Emergency Services and to praise the amazing work by us all. 👏
Well worth a follow! ✅

And this is the uncomfortable truth known by Police Officers up and down the country that that government needs to face up to.
You can make shoplifting a priority, you can create teams to deal with it, but when it gets to court, the punishment doesn’t exist…🤷🏼♂️
