@TrainTraveller5@ivoryflame Ooh the assumptions!! It was me speaking, I’m 10 years younger than Rob and am Comprehensive through and through! I probs put on my posh phone voice because it was prerecorded, I was at work, and I wasn’t 3 wines in!!
@ThatEricAlper “But it's hard to get by
When your arse is the size
Of a small country”
(National Express, The Divine Comedy). The whole song is funny, imo
@RetirementTales My mum called it The Leicester Fortnight (I went to school in Oadby in the 70s). Could never make out if she loved it or hated it; I’m guessing with 4 kids under 7 it was the latter 😂
@SoVeryBritish My neighbour looks after our cats and bins when we’re away. He signs off his WhatsApp messages: ‘Everything is Catisfactory. Best wishes, your Binefactor’. He’s the best!
@Sarah_Jayne1981 Reminds me of when I got points during lockdown so could only do it online then. When I told a friend, without hesitation, she said: ‘Ironic if it’s going to be on Zoom’ 🤦♀️😂(it was a great course btw)
@NeilDrysdale It was the support film to Chariots of Fire? I remember my parents coming home from a night at the cinema and telling me they saw ‘a lovely film about a penguin walking around a school’ and not remembering much about the other film…
@1980sRewind Izal toilet paper. A dressing up box. Going to the Spar to do the shopping and putting it on my Granny’s account. They kept a little red book next to the till. Didn’t have a clue who I was!
@ruskin147 I have been following this since day 1 as we got our rescue cat on exactly the same date as #sophiefromromania. Over 2 months later, today he rolled over and let me tickle his tummy. I also heard him purr for the first time. It made me unbelievably happy!
@TimNumb3rs @NoContextBrits I guess you misunderstood. I’ll wait for any student who doesn’t understand. Always. But they prefix sentences with ‘wait’ when it doesn’t mean literally ‘wait’. It’s common amongst kids, if you listen to them.
@TimNumb3rs @NoContextBrits The number of kids who start a sentence with ‘wait’ (I’m a teacher).
Default answer ‘Sorry, I’m not waiting’ and I move onto the next student
