Ridiculous that I got an email 2 days ago from @thetrainline offering 50% off a railcard until 20 Jan but the code has already expired - I called customer support and they said it was capped at 5200 uses. All it says in the Ts and Cs is ‘subject to availability.’ #thetrainline

@HMRCcustomers I have just submitted my 23-24 self assessment return and the final screen says “you can pay right away” but it currently says I owe £0 (not true). So do I check back in 48 hrs? Also weirdly it says a payment was made for this tax year 2 days ago but it wasn’t. 🤔

@HMRCcustomers Hi Steve. I can now see my balance for 23-24 and the advance for 24-25 but I do not see ‘Statements’ anywhere to check on the payment that was shown as being made a week ago.

Annoyed with lazy news reporting on the radio earlier talking about “residents in California who have not had an evacuation order”. LA is not all of California. California is in fact 75% larger than the UK and LA is as far from SF as London from Scotland. #LAfires

@clairebubblepop In July my mum was told her symptoms weren’t serious enough for an ambulance. Then she collapsed on her driveway as my dad tried to take her to hospital. But no ambulances were available. My 75-year-old dad somehow got her into the car and she died en route. Very traumatic.

@ProfDaveAndress Yes! Most British school uniforms are impractical, uncomfortable and irrelevant. Noone learns effectively when they are too hot/cold/restricted. Almost no adults wear suits for work any more. Plus, girls tend to wear their uniforms in a way that completely undermines them.

It’s depressing to see so many people moaning about the “woke agenda” in #MurderIsEasy and how they “don’t need a lecture”. And yet … they are clearly upset about seeing a black actor in the lead role. They can’t see that the racism depicted 75+ years ago still festers in them.
