This is Johnson. He’s a community dog here in Thailand. That means everyone knows him but nobody owns him.
He’s done himself a bad injury (we hope not malicious) so he needs our help.
It’s been a good week but tomorrow is a big day for him… (1/7)
currently eating at a restaurant in Edinburgh where they presented a variety of knives and asked me to “choose the knife that speaks to me most” for consumption of my meal
On this day, we remember the end of the Battle of the Somme, and we honour the incredible Wilfred Whitfield.
Wilfred lost his arm in the battle.
But there was no hero’s welcome when he returned to England and his former employer shamefully sacked him. He was one of three disabled war veterans sacked on the same day.
But brave Wilf decided to take action and became the founder and chairman of the Teesside branch of Blesma.
He raised funds and ran campaigns, writing to newspapers and politicians, to increase awareness of the plight of disabled veterans.
Let's not just remember Wilf; let's thank him for his service, for his fight, for his spirit.
Gisèle Pelicot is on the stand today and asked about her decision to continue using the surname "Pelicot".
Gisèle explains that when the trial began her children were "ashamed" of the name.
She adds: "I have grandchildren who are called that.
"Today, I want them to be proud of their grandmother.
"My name is known across the world now. They shouldn't be ashamed of carrying that name.
"Today we will remember Gisèle Pelicot."
Yes we will. What a woman.

This man was born 80 years ago today. He could still drink you under the table. He could still make you laugh harder than anyone you’ve ever met. He could still make you feel like you’re the only person in the room. He could still give you the best advice you’ve ever gotten and make you feel loved no matter what. He’s an American treasure.
