The benefit cap limits the amount of money that most working-age people can receive from benefits

More than 38k households in London had their income reduced by the benefit cap in 2024

This is 50% higher than pre-pandemic and an increase of 10k since 2023.

@larasampson Could the low figures also reflect that many unrepresented claimants face barriers to raising formal complaints? And that advisers will not often advise a complaint because official advice from DWP is to contact local partnership managers to escalate problems?

Concerns about machine learning taking over the world can be allayed. The virtual assistant understood “ESA” but didn’t understand “new-style ESA”. No keyboard data input works.
