#Asheville Since I posted about air quality a few years ago, here's an update using the same EPA data. Asheville had it's best air quality in 2020 thanks to the pandemic, but we still have cleaner air now than in the previous 2 decades.
I'm quoted in this article from Eric Schwartzman: https://t.co/Uj8cM27fPk It's a good article about recent turmoil in web traffic, SEO, AI, and Google updates.
I couldn't agree more. This assessment of Google Ads support doesn't go far enough though. As Google strips value from organic, businesses turn to ads. For some, those ads won't run and they are left with a smaller reach and little recourse. https://t.co/0MZ1QB9s6U
@davewiner Here's an example from Asheville, NC from that tool. Nov 2016, wildfires in the area. March 2020+, pandemic. Jan 29, 2020 nearby 344 megawatt coal plant retires, replaced by natural gas plant.
@davewiner You can see the outside air quality trends in a nifty map tool from the EPA. If you had indoor numbers, you'd be able to compare by dates. https://t.co/GI7uA1EPg3

@MomentumMag Get a Buff brand neck/face cover and always have it with you. I prefer the original weight fabric over the thicker ones because of its versatility.
When you're working with very large sites with millions of URLs, it can be easy to get stuck in the headlights; overwhelmed with where to look first. 😨
This is what I do (it's really simple)... A small🧵

In 2020, Strava measured 1.2 billion miles of bike riding in the U.S., a 56% increase in cycling mileage from 2019. Pandemic cycling boom, indeed! https://t.co/rjrbsNUamG #cycling#pandemic#bikeboom
Strava releases a "year in sport" each year, reporting some total numbers from there users. It's interesting pandemic data. For cycling in the USA, in 2019, pre-pandemic, there were 769 million miles ridden by Strava users. In 2020...
Wonder how much visibility into search terms we lost? We went from 98% visibility down to 78%....overnight.
This is tens of thousands of queries we would have mined for inefficient spend that we now do not have access to.
Who pays for that? Advertisers.
