Around 11 p.m. last night, I got a call from someone. They said there’s an accident along Illisan, and they have called an ambulance, no response. I asked them how long ago did they call the ambulance, they said 15min, I said it’s not possible for Ogun State ambulance to not respond in that timeframe because they are on a Trunk B road.

I asked which ambulance number they called. He said 112. I told him to call the Ogun State ambulance service number: 0811 200 0033 instead.

He called back 10min later. That Ogun State ambulance had arrived at the scene, and they were on their way to OOUTH.

When there’s an accident in Ogun State, call the Ogun State hotline FIRST before dialing 112. 112 is a short code, but the response time is not the same.

112 is a federal emergency line. They’ll do a lot of rerouting before they can locate you.

The Ogun State emergency service will locate you quickly because the operators know everywhere in the state.
