Pay attention @nycmayor@ZohranKMamdani ! You promised to be different & independent from the Ed tech oligarchs trying to control our schools & our lives - now prove it! https://t.co/rmxDaleTDf
Reminder @nycmayor@ZohranKMamdani : the demand for smaller classes is NOT flat. Hundreds of thousands of NYC kids are being denied this. What is your plan to address this? Their right to a quality education does not stop at age 5.
Mamdani makes his upteenth announcement on 3K - meanwhile not any word on improving opportunities for kids in grades K-12 or what space provided for smaller classes. Parents are agonized waiting to hear which schools to be provided with that opportunity. https://t.co/1E0jdoxj2d
.@nyscomptroller audit released today confirms how @nycschools privacy policies & practices are sloppy, irresponsible & show lack of concern for keeping students’ personal info safe. The findings further reinforce our opposition to AI use in the classroom https://t.co/ENLdQeaW7u

FairPlay & over 200 organizations incl @classsizematter call for 5-year pause on Gen AI products in preK-12 to allow time for school communities to learn about studies showing negative impact on learning, privacy, mental health & more & provide feedback. https://t.co/5l7hI8dRin
@heavyredaction Every quarter, there’s a “teaching with AI” workshop. Every quarter, I email and ask whether it’s “how to dissuade students from using AI” or “how to get students to use AI”
It’s always the latter, and they’re always shocked anyone might want the former
“What will it take to get AI out of schools?” This is the $64,000 question and my current bête noire and white whale. No amount of potential harm to student learning, reputational injury, or legal exposure seems to dissuade university administrators from the AI siren song
There’s something worth paying attention to in Los Angeles. 📵
LAUSD is beginning to limit classroom screen time, especially for younger learners. It reflects a growing awareness—from parents, educators, and communities—about what kids really need.
Because learning is built on relationships, not screens… and definitely not robots.
@agounardes And we need a pause in AI as well - which is even worse. Not the heedless rush that this DoE is currently engaged in. https://t.co/9zgxCsMF6P
@NYCMayor How about creating enough classroom space so NYC can comply with the class size law passed in 2022- nearly 4 years ago - which you repeatedly promised to do but have provided no info on, including at @NYCCouncil hearings last week? Where is that plan @ZohranKMamdani?
.@BillGates gets ‘Donkey of the Day’ award fr/@breakfastclubam. “If you’re going to confess, just confess &svay I’m sorry. Don’t tell me you did something wrong, but it wasn’t that wrong. Saying hanging with Epstein was a ‘mistake?’ A typo is a mistake!" https://t.co/9473KJoYPQ
There are currently 165 schools in Queens too overcrowded to lower class size to the required benchmarks - & we've seen no real plan so far by either @nycpublicschools or @NYC_SCA to provide that space. https://t.co/ngKBSzB5hY
