The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating after a Boeing 777 cargo aircraft flew dangerously low, with one of its wings just within feet of hitting the ground at a private airport in Texas, officials said. https://t.co/5fvXEKECFM
@LinzmeierRuss@airmainengineer I get along very well with my mechanics and I have a great deal of respect for every one of them. Without them, we pilots wouldn't even be able to fly.
Aircraft maintenance engineers are the people behind every safe flight but do we get the appreciation we deserve? What do you think?

Bravo to Jeppesen for the FD Pro update, which now includes graphical NOTAMs.
NOTAMs (NOtices To AirMen) warn pilots that certain taxiways or runways are closed, or equipment is broken, or there is a change to a procedure, etc.. You have to scroll through a very long list everytime to figure out what will & will not be available for your flight. If you can only land on the long runway, and you didn’t see that it’s NOTAM’d closed…you’re going to have a bad time.
Anyway, now the NOTAMs are overlaid right on the moving maps. It’s a big improvement. In the picture below, everything in red is closed at MSY.
