@Speedy_RS@Abramjee@SANParks We are waiting to see what they charge him with… he might be all those things (which would speak to intention and could affect sentencing) but ignorance of the law (including environmental) is not an excuse for breaking it.
@Sihle_Yen@Abramjee@SANParks The simplest would be failure to comply with a lawful instruction, reckless driving, etc and then the ones that are more relevant to the Greater Kruger are contravention of park or conservation regulations…
@4Tune_20@Abramjee@SANParks If attendance at court can be reasonably secured by less invasive means then they don’t need to arrest him right now. Enforcement of the law is strongest at prosecution. Not arrest.
@tiff_dutoit@Abramjee@SANParks Building a stronger case, practical backlog, jurisdictional co-ordination. Immediate arrest is not the target. He didn’t help himself by going viral. He didn’t help himself by apologising. He definitely isn’t helping his case by making more videos.
@Speedy_RS@Abramjee@SANParks Potentially… contravention of conservation regulations in a protected area, failing to obey lawful instruction, reckless driving, etc.
@RealFassieKhosa@Abramjee@SANParks Not quite. Privately owned land in a conservation-managed area is still subject to conservation enforcement. The fool (and potentially the fool’s dad) could be charged with contravention of conservation regulations, failing to obey lawful instruction, reckless driving, etc.
@JustinCLeto@DemocraticWins The mandate is price stability which can only be assessed after 9 July. If tariffs return and price pressures rise, the case for delaying a cut strengthens.
@kate_p45 I think he’s probably trying to maintain the inflation target and preserve stability. Data shows inflation is above target. So that’s bad. Lowering interest rates will increase spending or demand when supply chains are uncertain, resulting in higher prices.
@Sthabiso___@Mngxitama2 Not exactly, the issue with starlink is that it has the potential to set a precedent for other foreign owned players to challenge existing ownership structures. And that may weaken the policy of redistribution of ownership. Still essential tech for future…
