Nate Oats: "I'm not sure how you tell a guy that's played four years in the EuroLeague, which is a lot higher level than the G League, that he's eligible to come, and because Charles chose an academic institution to start with and the other players chose the professional route, that Charles is gonna get punished. Really, what it does is it gives very preferential treatment to the international players and penalizes American players for choosing to go to an academic institution. We are in the NCAA, which is a conglomerate of academic institutions. We should not be punishing American kids that go to American high schools that then go to colleges, from being able to come back and pursue their degree and go to college, and giving preferential treatment to international players."
“Everybody would just remember me as the guy who took all this money and went to Miami or Tennessee for his last year. But I was a captain. I put my hand and footprints in the cement at Denny Chimes. I would have lost everything that I built at Alabama.” — Ty Simpson
