Jefferson West Softball (3A 🥎, 14-2)

Jeff West softball has already surpassed their win total from last season (11) under first year head coach and Jeff West alum Maddy Barger. They are led by a core group of three seniors and underclassmen who have stepped up after graduating 6 starters last spring. Mackenzie Weller of SIK was at practice today to catch up with Coach Barger and the girls. We will hear from them tonight. #sportsinkansas

Jeff West (3A ⚾️ 18-1) is off to a great start under long time head coach Dan Hypse. The Tigers have been dominant in this new competitive Big East League and look to keep their momentum going into a double header with Perry Lecompton tomorrow. Jefferson West (3A) remains undefeated on the year, taking down Silver Lake 10-6 and 19-2 last night. On the night, the Tigers saw 4 home runs from 4 different players: Drew Beilman, Tucker Holthaus, Brady Skalhan, and Corbin Mayer. In an extra inning showdown in game on,  sophomore Corbin Mayer hit his homer and was followed later in the inning by a Tucker Holthaus grand slam that sealed the 10-6 win. The Tigers move to 15-0 on the year and have now handed Silver Lake 3 of their 5 losses on the year including in the championship of the Silver Lake tournament this past weekend. #sportsinkansas

Linus Grollmes now holds his state's #1 spot in BTR's crossbow category after sending a crossbow bolt through this 27-point hammer in Nemaha County. Buckmasters master scorer Terry Rethman measured this buck 253 2/8 inches.
