Here's a terrifying thought:
The USS Thresher submarine had a test depth of -400m. Due to combined failures, it lost propulsion and ballast control. It sank to -780m.
At that depth, pressure is 78 bar. The hull imploded. The steel walls must have caved in within 0.1 seconds.

The X-12 nuclear-electric locomotive.
