TL;DR - Go follow @theclaygill for latest.
After a 6-month hiatus, I’m back.
…as if I have a large audience & this tweet matters 🤷🏻♂️
Keeping this account for historical purposes.
Aim of new account: Positive, insightful, less angry, yet real guide to life, biz, & tech 😅✌🏻
I'm done being angry at anyone other than Satan. Y'all can laugh all you want...but if the very word you follow says that his very job description is to deceive and divide...you should listen up & examine how you're talking to someone else who claims to love Jesus.
I fell for the trick, ya'll...the one where it's cool to be a Christian that's angry at other Christians. I'm bowing out. I don't want to be that kind of "cool" any more. Down with the division, up with the unity.
We should stop screaming at each other & start focusing on ways to help heal each other.
"By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Is examination of our doctrines & systems a good thing? Yes! But what are we trying to prove?
The irony of Jesus being a servant king who is not militaristic, even towards unbelievers, is believers who think they are being good soldiers by instigating fights with those that they disagree with, despite that they are believers
In fact, what’s most helpful is to remove the identity “negative” from any emotion. Anger, sadness, & anxiety all live under God’s sovereignty. They are only as “negative” as the outcome that they lead us to.
It’s good to feel deeply - Jesus shows us that truth again & again.
Jesus ≠ Stoic
“What then do we see in the Gospels of the emotional life of Jesus? What does a godly emotional life look like? It is an inner life of perfect balance, proportion, & control, on the one hand; but also of extensive depth of feeling, on the other hand.” @daneortlund
One of the worst things we can do for our spiritual lives is to put the expectation on ourselves & on others to always be calm, cool, & collected. Having the “peace of Christ” does not mean that we live in constant bliss, nor does it equate to being devoid of “negative” emotion.
“My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an ADVOCATE with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.” - 1 John 2:1
Zoom in. Read. Soak it up.
Thank you @daneortlund. This book is transformative, to say the least.
@PastorYPJ As a former Apple employee (2011-2014), I couldn’t agree with this more! I mainly use Google Suite for all of my doc apps, email, cloud storage and more. I wish they had a cleaner, more streamlined version of AndroidOS. The OS design is what keeps me with Apple.
I couldn’t agree more!
Married men...listen up! YOUR SIN is the problem, not your WIFE.
Many of the books that are talked about in this article were referred to me as a single 20-something.
Now (married) in my 30s, I’m glad I didn’t read a single page of them.
Look at me, a little Canadian woman who stayed at home and homeschooled her kids…
Taking on the entire evangelical establishment…
And telling them, “you’re toxic when it comes to sex.”

@WyndhamHotels The fact that you've allowed your hotels in Austin to charge $999 per night (and above) during a time of crisis for the city is DIS. GUST. ING.
