More than 1 million customers choose Amazon DynamoDB as their as their go-to NoSQL database for building high-performance, low-latency applications at any scale. Our engineering team has innovated to increase operational efficiencies for Amazon #DynamoDB which means new cost savings for customers—DynamoDB has reduced prices for on-demand throughput by 50% and global tables by up to 67%!
These changes make DynamoDB and Keyspaces an even more compelling choice, allowing customers to build globally distributed applications more affordably and optimize costs without compromising on performance. Looking forward to hearing how these price reductions help you to stay ahead of the curve! https://t.co/wjVJhfRVex
🆕🚨Warm throughput for @dynamodb lets you pre-warm tables for instant readiness during peak loads. Check current capacity to decide if pre-warming is right for upcoming traffic surges.

Holy smokes -- 50% cut in DynamoDB On-Demand pricing 🔥. That's huge news for almost everyone using Dynamo.
On-Demand used to be ~7x more expensive than fully-utilized provisioned throughput. Which seems high, until you realize you're not even close to fully utilized. A ton of DDB customers would or did save money (+ headache) by moving to On-Demand.
Now you need to be getting >30% utilization with provisioned throughput to beat on-demand. Not impossible but fairly tricky. Plus basically no operational overhead w/ on-demand.
Huge win. BRB going to update all my spreadsheets.

Amazon DynamoDB makes it easier to scale your tables to any level of throughput.
#DynamoDB now supports warm throughput and pre-warming, letting you instantly scale for peak traffic events.

1/ BIG Amazon Keyspaces (for Apache Cassandra) launch ! We are excited to share Keyspaces now supports Time to Live (TTL). This is my favorite Keyspaces launch yet. Lots of really cool customer benefits. https://t.co/gYL6UFcmdL
Totogi, because of @DynamoDB, talks in terms of how many COUNTRIES it can support (e.g. we can handle all 1.1b subs in India, as well as the 750m of the EU at the same time)
@hbhanoo@guidoism@rsnodgrass Remember this well, it was very matter of fact in how it was delivered by Al. You’re certainly not the record holder at this point and the pattern around fixing it and blaming process not people has held.
"How Disney+ scales globally on DynamoDB" presented by Disney Streaming Services. This free #reInvent 2020 session starts at 3:30 PM Pacific Time today & will be repeated twice. Add this session to your calendar: https://t.co/0cDbt7mJOC
#reinvent#reinvent2020 The biggest data announcement IMHO is Glue Elastic Views. Builds materialized views to build virtualized table for data that can be copied form source to target data store. A long-awaited first step for AWS to build synergy across its myriad databases.
Don't miss Shawn's database session tomorrow where we will demo Babelfish for PostgreSQL, Aurora Serverless v2, and Glue Elastic Views! Should be a blast :-)
Using DynamoDB is like swimming in the Ninja Turtles toxic sludge that gave them superpowers, except your powers keep getting stronger forever, and @alexbdebrie wrote the book on how to do it without having to swim in toxic sludge.
@dynamodb @bracegirdle_me @houlihan_rick@awscloud One of the key design tenets for DynamoDB is consistent fast performance at any scale. We’ll continue to add more powerful functionality based on customer feedback, but not where it’s in conflict with that core tenet.
😍 Big day for DynamoDB today. Three releases that have me excited.
1. Use Kinesis as the mechanism for your DynamoDB streams. Huge win. One of my top 3 requests. DynamoDB Streams consumer limit was a bummer, and this helps a ton.
