In an effort to raise money and exert its authority over the colonies, Britain established the Townshend Acts in 1767.
This placed taxes on tea, lead, paint, paper, and glass imported to the colonies.
Spoiler Alert: it did not work.
@pgipe@embasic Agreed that the fears of CIN are largely overstated, but later stage CKD patients are still at risk for progression to ESRD requiring dialysis. Contrast (like all medications) must still be used judiciously.
I’d like to re-introduce the “pill” that has a lung cancer cure rate of 80%.
It’s called the Low Dose CT Chest.
Takes 30s. Less radiation than a mammogram. And is available everywhere.
…And less than 5% of eligible patients take advantage. Ask your doctor to see if you’re eligible.

I am increasingly flabbergasted by the “rule out PE” chest CTA’s in patients with prior imaging showing airspace disease and no other risk factors for a PE- most have not even had a LE duplex scan. Is this the new standard post-COVID operating procedure???
This. Also, emphasizes the importance of having a presence in the hospital. IMO no greater job satisfaction than “the drop in” reading room conversations with other providers elucidating complex cases.
NEW for the #VoiceofRadiology blog:
