Happy birthday to former Shawnee, University of Oklahoma and current Kansas City Chiefs center Creed Humphrey, born on this day in 1999 in Shawnee.

Humphrey was a first-team All-State selection as a senior, playing both offensive line and defensive line. As the team's starting center, he was graded out at 96 percent as he helped Shawnee reach the playoffs.

On defense, he had 35 tackles, including 18 for losses.

He was also named to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl following the season.

Humphrey signed with OU and after redshirting in 2017, he became the Sooners' starter at center in 2018 and earned second-team All-Big 12. He earned Big 12 Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year in both 2019 and 2020.

He was also named third-team All-American as a junior.

He entered the NFL Draft in 2021, forgoing his final year of eligibility and was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs.

In five seasons with the Chiefs, Humphrey has played in and started 85 games while earning four Pro Bowl selections. He was named to the All-Rookie team in 2021, second-team All-Pro in 2022 and first-team All-Pro in 2024 and 2025.

He has won a pair of Super Bowls with the Chiefs.

In 2023, Humphrey was inducted into the Shawnee Football Hall of Fame.
