➡️ Next: ETA scaled up for all visa-required countries and additional visa categories added

📲 Digital ID regulations published for public comment
➡️ Next: Final regulations promulgated and prototype launched

🛂 Lawful inland deportations increased by 46% and BMA technological capacity enhanced
➡️ Next: More immigration officers and BMA border guards recruited to increase enforcement

🆔 Record 4 million Smart IDs issued in 2025/26, over 1.3 million more than previous annual average
➡️ Next: Set new annual record to accelerate elimination of fraud-prone Green ID

📑 Historic visa backlog cleared
➡️ Next: Cut turnaround times and enhance security through the ETA

⚖️ 98 dismissals, 40 arrests and 10 convictions across DHA and BMA for corruption and maladministration
➡️ Next: Fully implement SIU recommendations to root out corruption

🌍 Automated citizenship reinstatement portal launched and dedicated service centres opened abroad
➡️ Next: Digitalisation of Smart ID and Passport applications abroad to cut turnaround times

Then why am I still waiting for a decision on my permanent residency appeal- submitted almost one year ago!!!! - this after 3 years waiting for the decision on the original application. Your department just rejected legitimate applications to meet your December 2024 goal.

How many of these were actually approved versus easily declined? My PRA was declined for an absurd reason and now I’m waiting months for a decision on my appeal.

@Leon_Schreib I waited since September 2022 for my PRP to be approved. Declined in December 2024 for an absurd reason: “ no record of my husband’s divorce over 25 years ago! Why did this only get raised now? Where are your records????divorce was in SA and you MUST have records!
