BNEF just dramatically increased its #datacenter growth forecast. #Environmental & #affordability harms are already being experienced due to existing #datacenters. To head off additional harm, we need @SenatorPittman to move bipartisan bills he's stalled. https://t.co/8UGmnwXzv7
Proud to support this effort & that our organization is one of the signatories to the letter to @SenWhitehouse@SenCapito & the other members of the #Environment & Public Works Committee.
250 organizations are urging Congress to reject industry efforts to weaken #TSCA, our nation's chemical safety law.
Lawmakers should listen to impacted communities, veterans, workers, and health professionals—not chemical industry lobbyists.

#Legionnaires disease may have a history connected to PA, but it doesn’t need to have a future. #Climatechange is fueling a greater proliferation of #water conditions for the disease. That’s why we support HB2085 by @RepIzzy to strengthen #water system standards.
Looking forward to testifying before the House #ConsumerProtection Technology, & Utilities Committee on Monday about #water systems & #Legionellia. TY @RepBurgos for the invite! Tune in to the remarks by our @SHvozdovich via @YouTube at https://t.co/pzrYVgbzuD
** PENNSYLVANIA AIR QUALITY FORECAST FOR FRIDAY, JULY 17TH **
While we are all waking up to AQI levels above 150, we will see some improvements across eastern and northeastern Pennsylvania due to a backdoor cold front. The bad news is that this will "squeeze" the smoke into western and central Pennsylvania, with widespread Very Unhealthy levels of 250+ expected for areas such as Pittsburgh, Erie, State College, Gettysburg, Harrisburg, York, and Lancaster for the afternoon and evening hours.
➡️If you live in zones A through C, it is highly advised to cancel outdoor plans for Friday due to unhealthy to hazardous air expected. The smoke will shift back east on Saturday, but there is still some uncertainty on how bad it is, as we will see widespread showers and storms that will help to cleanse out the air.
AREA A (AQI 250+): Very Unhealthy air quality is very likely and expected. Even healthy individuals may experience eye irritation, coughing, or difficulty breathing. Everyone should avoid prolonged outdoor activity, especially those with heart or lung disease, older adults, children, and outdoor workers.
AREA B (AQI 200+): Very Unhealthy air quality is expected. Sensitive groups are at the greatest risk, but healthy individuals may also experience symptoms. Limit strenuous outdoor activity and keep windows closed if smoke is present.
AREA C (AQI 150+): Unhealthy air quality is expected. Everyone may begin to experience health effects, especially sensitive groups. Reduce prolonged outdoor activity whenever possible.
AREA D (AQI 100+): Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups air quality is expected. Those with asthma, COPD, heart disease, older adults, and children should limit prolonged outdoor activity.
AREA E (AQI 50+): Moderate air quality is expected. Most people should not experience health effects, though unusually sensitive individuals may notice minor irritation.
Stay tuned for updates! #PAwx #WildfireSmoke #Wildfire #Weather #Pennsylvania #Smoke

🚨SAVE THE DATE🚨This event will provide a summary of the PA #PFAS#Health Study that was started 5 Years ago thanks to our allies at Buxmont Coalition for Safer #Water & their scientific & academic partners.
Great that a #pabudget got passed. Now do HB 1261 or is this just another bipartisan bill we're going to sit on, @PASenateGOP ? HB 1261 protects our fire fighters & #environment from #toxic#PFAS chemicals & was UNANIMOUSLY passed by the State House & Sen. Veterans Committee.
Allegheny Alerts will be sent via a new platform. Alerts provides county updates on various issues, including public #health & #air quality. Because of the platform switch you must REREGISTER at https://t.co/Fl0vOO7rnc or use the same link to be a new recipient of the alerts.
The 2024 PFAS National Primary Drinking Water Regulation were established through powers in the Safe Drinking Water Act & scientific evidence that #PFAS pose a serious #health risk. Join us in sending @EPA a message to not roll back these protections. https://t.co/6NXUNkDdfn
We're speaking today at the @EPA public hearing on regs to delay & rescind drinking #water standards for #PFAS The #TrumpAdministration actions don't #MAHA but put millions of Pennsylvanians who get drinking #water from systems that use surface #water sources at risk.
TY @charitybri526 for featuring our work in July. We're proud to work alongside PA communities to address #lead exposure & build healthier neighborhoods. #Environmentaljustice means every community deserves clean #drinkingwater. Support the effort at: https://t.co/3XE2pG5dwD
Yes, a variety of approaches are circulating & we likely need most of them to effectively address issues w/ data centers. But @RepBradford is right that it's head scratching why @PASenateGOP leaders are unwilling to move any of them despite bipartisan support & public outcry.
We’re grateful to Charity Bridge Fund for highlighting our #lead prevention & #environmentaljustice work as well as well the importance of community & #health-based solutions. https://t.co/dsjC7XhZvV
