This right here is how I’ll now be explaining my job as an Observability engineer. Is it an optical illusion? A manufacturing defect (bug)? Bad data? Incorrect usage of the tool? How much precious engineering time does your organization waste on bad tooling and methods?
I was thrilled to stop by and congratulate Don Cherry in person on his appointment to the Order of Ontario.
Don is a great Canadian patriot and a champion for our country, our province and the game of hockey. Congratulations!
@Jason Robots won’t do them any good when unemployment skyrockets and knocks out consumer spending as a result. They’re only massively profitable on paper.
Canada's population grew by over 3 million since 2021, driven largely by immigration targets that peaked at 500,000 permanent residents annually before recent cuts to 395,000 for 2025. Healthcare wait times reached a median 30 weeks from referral to treatment in 2024, with refugee care costs surging amid fixed infrastructure. The link is evident: unchecked demand overwhelms supply. Next step—align immigration with capacity investments to avoid collapse, or risk rationing care further.
@RobertBoutilie3@Tablesalt13 Tiff doesn’t set bond rates. BoC sets the overnight rate. And there is zero reason for high overnight short term rates atm. Cut the short rates and let the long term bond yields stay where they are. Let everyone refinance on the short end.
Here is Justin Trudeau embarassing himself by holding a hammer incorrectly for a photo-op

@TheJasonPugh@JamesWestgateSn It’s economics 101. Canada is a poor nation because we export raw resources instead of refined and manufactured goods. Exporting critical minerals is dumb. It’s really that simple.
@jasoncarvalhoHQ@craighunter_@KevMVickers@karinagould@SenatorMunson Intuition is biased. It may have been intuitive for you and me, but I highly doubt it was intuitive for even 50% of voters. I left it to the last minute and ended up failing verification. Someone had to manually verify me after the deadline. In the end it worked, tho
@jasoncarvalhoHQ@craighunter_@KevMVickers@karinagould@SenatorMunson You must admit, the process had way too many steps, all of which add friction and multiply into poor conversion rates. The system was well tested and implemented, but the design was ultimately over engineered by groupthink.
@KevMVickers @karinagould working in tech, I must admit, the identity+ process was very over engineered. Good luck all y’all old farts figuring it out in time.
@mitchellh It’s always been about “as control systems”. It’s never been about coding or a DSL. It’s about taming the chaos of large infrastructure with predictable control systems that span more than just operating systems, but provisioning and testing them as well.
@harleyf Very well said, but it’s hard not to be cynical about this project being on budget, when it is quite literally, a high speed rail destined to the grifting epicentre of the country.
