@seventensuited@McFranchisee@McDonalds Sounds expensive. But it never wants a raise. Never needs a day off. Can work 24/7 with swappable batteries. Needs no benefits. Doesn't steal. Doesn't require Social Security or unemployment taxes. Requires no personal protection/safety equipment. Can work in dangerous environs.
@pinch_weasel Has to be one of the messiest trees. Beautiful blooms, tho. For a while, people planted them by walkways and roads in the Midwest -- until they discovered the stains they made, and the bird droppings were unremovable.π
We all want what we can't have. Fruiting olive trees are banned in Las Vegas (Clark County, actually). They produce a suffocating amount of pollen.π
As old as the hills, thick as a charter oak, and more gnarled than a pirateβs soul, the ancient olive trees of #Mallorca are a sight to behold. π«πͺΎπ€―π²
@D_ByersArtist@m6drop@Bellagio It's literally waste water from the shallow aquifer under the strip. That's water from car washes, irrigation runoff, storms, cleaning waste. Yeah, I wouldn't want to swim in that.
I'm kinda hurt I didn't get an invite to the Vanderpump June 11th party next week. I'll be in NYC anyway, but it would have been fun to decline the invite like a Reality TV rockstar.π
IM NOT A FAN - BECAUSE ITS A FEMININE HOTEL.
BUT WHEN LISA LAS VEGAS AIRS ON @BravoTV FEATURING @LisaVanderpump
THAT NEW HOTEL IS GOING TO STAY SOLD OUT.
188 ROOMS IS NOT HARD TO SELL OUT WHEN YOU HAVE MILLIONS OF FANS

@m6drop@imBobbyKhan The motivation to sell properties is that the debt burden is too high. Not tourist sentiment. In the case of Caesars, the debt is twice the shareholder equity. As @ChampChaz02 pointed out, these are "asset light" companies. They don't own anything. The debt is at risk.
@jerdp01@m6drop@WynnLasVegas@dontlosejustwin@LiveOddsMJ Cops never have to tell you the truth. Confusion arises bc some charges won't stick if they lie. For example, disobeying a direct order from a police officer who has either told you or even implied he's not a cop. So they avoid it if they can.
@VitalVegas What people are calling "corp greed" is really just the short term pressure of having to be spectacularly profitable every 3 months. How big can these resort corps get? I think we're seeing the answer. There is a ceiling beyond which you're too wobbly for wallstreet or consumers.
@imBobbyKhan Our US govt leaders enrich themselves with insider trading. I see no difference. He's just taking advantage of his position like everyone else.
Southwest's plus-size policy lets people buy the seat next to them. But you can only do that if you're too big for 1 seat. The purchase page sez (twice):
"Extra seats may not be purchased solely to keep the adjacent seat empty."
Dang. π
@MathewP100@ChampChaz02 Agreed. And two things obviously happened. 1) the sum of the parts is less than the market valuation. 2) There are interested parties who want casinos, but can't swallow MGM or Caesars. I'm guessing -- take 'em private and butcher the pig. Sell pork chops to pay off debt.
It turns out that recent grads are having problems finding jobs bc employers don't want inexperienced people in remote work positions. WFH jobs are for people who already know the ropes.

@m6drop@CircaLasVegas@DerekJStevens Yes. I'm seldom out after 10pm. That's the realm of the young, the predators, and their prey. Vegas has a way of telling us geezers it's time to go home -- without actually saying anything, of course. The check just appears whether you ask for it or not.π
