To understand the scale of today’s Russian crime against humanity’s historical heritage: it is the equivalent of bombing St. Peter’s Basilica in a war of conquest against Italy, or Notre-Dame de Paris against France, Westminster Abbey against Britain, or Aachen Cathedral.
A UNESCO World Heritage site that has stood for over a thousand years. Last night, russia set it on fire.
Five people were killed in Kyiv. 35 injured — among them two children and a pregnant woman. Missiles and drones hit the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, Mystetskyi Arsenal, Dovzhenko Film Studios, residential buildings and infrastructure across the city.
This is not collateral damage. This is the point. russia does not target military infrastructure — it targets everything that makes Ukraine alive: its people, its culture, its history, its future.
Those who burn thousand-year-old monasteries and kill pregnant women are not looking for peace. They never were. Terrorists do not stop on their own. They are stopped.
Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes who defend Ukraine every night and day!
Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine: One more Russian crime against humanity, against history, against Christianity.
"As a result of the Russian shelling that is taking place now, on the night of June 15, the roof of one of the holiest places in the Christian world is burning - the Assumption Cathedral of the Pechersk Lavra in Kyiv.
We ask for prayer to save the shrine from destruction.
One more Russian crime against humanity, against history, against Christianity.
What else must the Kremlin's antichrist do so that the world realizes that it is necessary to act decisively so that the Russian terror against Ukraine and the very principles of peace stops?
Holy Virgin Mary, stop the Herod!"
Every single person who still cringes at the memory of trying to bullshit their way through an interview or exam question: today, the slate is wiped clean. Set down your burden of shame. Nothing - nothing, I say - could touch this.
Irina Dovhan was tortured not for carrying a weapon. Not for committing a crime. Not for hatred. She was tortured for one reason only — she loved Ukraine.
In August 2014, the world saw photographs that sent chills down the spine. In the center of occupied Donetsk, tied to a post in a public square, stood an exhausted woman wrapped in a Ukrainian flag. Around her neck hung a sign bearing a cynical accusation: "She kills our children." Beside her stood an armed militant. Around them gathered a crowd. People laughed, insulted her, beat her, and posed for photographs, as if she were not a living human being but a trophy.
At the time, the world did not know her name.
A few days later, it did.
Her name was Irina Dovhan, an ordinary Ukrainian woman from Yasynuvata.
She was 52 years old. She had poor eyesight, had never carried a weapon, and had never served in the military. She simply helped Ukrainian soldiers by bringing food, medicine, and clothing and by raising money for the army. She could not stand aside while war came to her homeland.
When most people fled Yasynuvata, Irina stayed behind. Not out of stubbornness or fear. She could not abandon her animals—three cats and two dogs left alone amid war, explosions, and empty homes.
She wanted only one thing: to save her home and care for those who depended on her.
But someone informed the militants about her support for the Ukrainian army.
One day they came for her while she was watering flowers in her yard. They blindfolded her, handcuffed her, and took her to a base of the Vostok Battalion. There, the interrogations began. Then came the torture.
She was beaten, humiliated, and threatened with death.
Later, Irina recalled that the worst part was not even the physical pain but the cold, limitless cruelty of the people around her.
Then they decided to make an example of her.
She was taken to the center of Donetsk, wrapped in a Ukrainian flag, given the false sign, and placed beside a post of public humiliation. She stood there for hours, holding onto the post to keep from collapsing after the beatings.
She was struck in the legs with rifle butts.
People threw tomatoes at her face.
They cursed and mocked her.
And many in the crowd smiled, took photographs, and watched with curiosity or hatred, as if it were a spectacle.
"Armed men stood nearby discussing how else they could torture me," Irina later recalled.
What happened outside the camera frame was even worse than the photographs themselves.
And yet, she endured.
Near the end of that ordeal, Irina noticed two men looking at her without hatred. They were foreign journalists, Andrew Kramer and Mark Franchetti. They later did everything they could to help secure her release from captivity.
And they succeeded.
Many people would have been broken forever after such an experience. But not Irina Dovhan.
Today, she heads SEMA Ukraine, an organization that supports women who survived Russian captivity and torture. She helps those who have gone through similar horrors find the strength to continue living and to speak openly about the crimes committed during the war.
Her voice has become the voice of thousands whose lives were shattered by violence.
In 2016, Irina received the People's Hero of Ukraine award. But her greatest achievement is that she never lost her humanity despite everything she endured.
In recent years, she has also fought cancer.
And once again, she prevailed.
Because some people simply cannot be broken.
Irina Dovhan is more than the woman in a famous photograph.
She is a symbol of resilience.
A symbol of Ukraine itself—remaining alive, dignified, and unbroken even in its darkest hours. 🇺🇦
russians just struck a baby food factory near Kyiv.
Yagotynske for Children — the plant that produces milk and food for Ukrainian infants and small children.
4 killed. More may still be under the rubble.
This isn’t war.
It’s the deliberate killing of civilians who feed Ukrainian babies. Pure evil.
June 4 is the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression. It honours kids affected by war and violence. Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, at least 707 Ukrainian children have been killed. Behind every number is a child whose future has been stolen. Russia must be held accountable for these crimes.

Look at this photo. This is a regular pedestrian crossing in a residential neighborhood of Dnipro, shredded by russian cluster munitions. This weapon is designed solely to kill and maim civilians.
Last night, russia launched a massive, coordinated strike across Ukraine, firing missiles and drones. Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy — the enemy targeted people in their sleep nationwide. And as I write these words, Dnipro is under attack again.
At least 21 people were killed and over 120 injured. In Dnipro alone, 15 people lost their lives, including a toddler. In Kyiv, 7 are dead. These numbers are still rising as rescuers clear the rubble.
This is a deliberate genocide of Ukrainians. The world cannot just watch this happen night after night, day after day.
We don't need expressions of deep concern. We need immediate, decisive action. Every delay in supplying weapons and air defense translates into more blood on Ukrainian streets. Sanctions must completely paralyze the russian military machine now.
The terrorist must be stopped. Force is the only language they understand.
Every morning after a massive Russian attack, I dread sitting down to put a post like the one below together. Russia brings so much pain and suffering to Ukrainians.
Russian combined attack on Ukraine killed 13 people and injured over 100 more. The most severe damage to civilian infrastructure occurred in Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv.
▪️ In Kyiv, 4 people were killed and over 60 more were injured. A three-year-old child was wounded by shrapnel.
Five medical facilities were damaged in Kyiv.
The ZEEKR car dealership burned down completely.
Other damaged sites include residential buildings, a utility company, an academy, outbuildings, a gas station, and a Ministry of Internal Affairs service center - all civilian infrastructure.
▪️ In Dnipro, 9 people were killed, a child among them. Multiple apartment buildings were destroyed.
Deputy chief of the fire and rescue unit, Major Anton Yarmolenko, was killed by the Russian attack. He was heading to an emergency call when the Russian strike occurred. Deepest condolences.
35 more residents of Dnipro were injured, and 6 more people are missing.
▪️ In Kharkiv, residential buildings and a food production facility were damaged, with more than 10 people injured.
Destruction of civilian infrastructure was recorded in Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions. In Kyiv region, residential houses, a postal terminal, and vehicles caught fire.

I no longer understand the so-called civilized world.
Another massive russian missile and drone attack on Ukraine.
🛑 Kyiv: 4 killed, 50+ injured, including 3 children.
🛑 Dnipro: 6 killed, including a rescuer, 36 injured.
Where is the world's outrage?
51 people have been injured in Kyiv, including three children, and four people have been killed in last night’s Russian terrorist attack on the city.
Video: Telegraph. Aftermath of Russian shelling in one of Kyiv’s districts.
Russia has been attacking Kyiv throughout the night.
At least fourteen people injured.
Residential buildings, a medical facility, a service center, and vehicles have been damaged.
💔 Kyiv. A city of over 3 million people.
Right now, fires are breaking out in courtyards after russian missile strikes on apartment buildings. Again.
Over four years into this terror, the world is still mostly watching it unfold.
What a fucking broken world.
Russia is now threatening other nearby countries far more openly than before. Every neighbor of Russia heard what was said about Armenia, whose people are the only ones who have the right to decide and will choose the future of their country. What Russia says about Armenia is, in truth, not about Armenia alone.
No one can be left without support – Europe has no right to lose any of its peoples, to leave any country behind. Armenia must be supported. Moldova must be supported. The Baltic states. Azerbaijan must be supported. We must find ways to support the people of Georgia as well – and this is a shared European task. No one can be lost.
💔 The Voice of Donbas:
A female resident of the Donetsk region, with tears in her eyes, is deeply offended by Americans and Europeans, who live well in their own homes, enjoy themselves, and yet demand that Ukraine give up her native Donbas to Russia. She calls them stupid people if they truly believe that the war will end after this.
She is profoundly hurt that the world does not feel this pain, and she asks: "Would you give up your own home?". The woman believes and hopes that she, along with her home, will not be handed over to Russia.
💔💙💛
The world has no right to remain silent
Ukrainians are forced to live underground
Men, women, children of all ages & even their pets
Have to live in underground shelters during alarms
Don't look away, don't be silent . .be their voice 🙏
He has not stopped working for Ukraine for a single day in 4 years.
More than President.
This is Volodymyr Zelensky🇺🇦
Respect to this man, every day..🫡
