If an athlete doesn't want to lift on game day let alone the week of a game or competition they either don't have a quality strength coach that programs appropriately OR the athlete isn't interested in being their best.
Strength training isn't about making you sore it's about maintaining strength, improving power, longevity, and keeping you focused.
Benefits of a pre-game lift:
• Endorphin release that improves cognitive focus, mood, and concentration.
• Muscle activation for optimized performance.
• Stimulates the nervous system to perform at a higher potential.
@ValTsports To play sports. Kids should be allowed to have a great experience. If they are in a program or system that doesn’t allow that, then what should they do? Quit? Stay in a program and be miserable?
@ValTsports I used to agree with his stance…not any longer. When schools don’t invest in their athletic programs and/or coaches and admin don’t care enough to put in the work, families should be allowed to make the decision to stay or leave. It doesn’t matter if they go to college or not
"Everybody's sore. Everybody's tired. Everybody has an excuse. Don't be everybody."
@LewisCaralla
Different requires discipline.
Different requires sacrifice.
Different requires effort.
Being everybody requires nothing.
Being different requires everything.
