Wowza. . . the CU hate is strong. Not going to give any direct social media oxygen to the haters because it's a complete waste of energy... But I will share my own experience... I've had the privilege of getting to know @ShedeurSanders @DeionSandersJr a little bit (and numerous other team members and coaches). They are hard-working, gracious, driven and kind people. They are also confident, creative and express their swag and personality just like many high profile athletes and celebrities. They've been bombarded by hate from people all over the country who don't know them, aren't here and feel compelled to spew opinions based on very little actual knowledge. Much of the hate has been personal, mean-spirited and, at times, racist. Those posts say a lot more about the haters than about the Sanders but the Sanders have every right to stand up against the attacks. Enough is enough. I am in Boulder. I love what Coach Prime has brought to our community. I've only had positive, inspiring and kind interactions with everyone on @DeionSanders 's team. I've had numerous private conversations with current players who have described how they feel supported and inspired by Coach Prime. They also describe the high standard that needs to be maintained. Don't maintain that standard and you will not be around long. That is not unique to CU. College football at this level is not high school. The players are young, but they are also grown men who are trying to get to a professional level 99% of players will never see. I will continue to try to be one of his team's strongest supporters because they have earned that support and I believe in what they are building. It's about more than football. I've been a CU fan for many years, but it's because of @DeionSanders that I'm now a more active supporter, partner, with the school, season ticket holder and donor. We've already won off the field. I look forward to winning on the field and it WILL happen in 2024. Tossing up last year's 4-8 without context is foolish. That was year 1. Let's bookmark and revisit the record in January 2025. Because surely rebuilding takes more than one season. In the meantime.....Thank you Coach Prime.
