This personal film is a love letter to a dear old friend who has fallen on hard times. It’s also for the people of King's Lynn and West Norfolk who deserve better of the "other" river that runs right through their town. https://t.co/wVhFSGAvga
@EnvAgency To be generous successive governments have stripped resources from EA, on the other hand the circular door of a nice job at a water company as a reward for not causing trouble can’t be ruled out.
Is this a Parody account or have you been hacked ? Wildlife making the most of the peaceful environment🤔you have just flailed the river bank destroying the wildflowers Purple Loosestrife Meadowsweet & Hemp Agrimony all gone🤷♂️couldn’t this wait until the end of August 🌸🌼🪺?
@The_WMA Happy ducks? Their habitat has just been mindlessly destroyed by the IDB flail machine, along with any chicks that couldn’t leave the nests.
“Happy“ - what utter tosh.
@clithers I monitor gauging weirs along our local R Ivel. The readings fluctuate in a way that appears very suspicious at times.
Here is the data for the last couple of days. Why are the flows going up so much on a regular basis each night?
Why do the flows then return to "normal"?

@07DeMorgan@NicolaCutcher@GeorgeMonbiot@RussellB1ggs Dead right Nick. We have exactly those problems with the IDB asking the only techniques they know which, surprise, surprise, pushes the river to look and behave more and more like a straightened Fenland ditch.

@BylinesEast@PeterThurlow With all the attention on our rivers, lakes and sea you’d expect things to be improving. Not a bit of it.

Water companies have flooded our rivers and seas with raw sewage for years—and gotten away with it 😡 Join me in demanding @Keir_Starmer and Enviro Minister @SteveReedMP push for criminal prosecutions against offending water companies: https://t.co/qwuQ7Ur54e
I've just added my name to a message of peace and solidarity to the people of Southport- to be printed in local press - following the tragic killing of innocent children and subsequent riots. Will you join me? https://t.co/RpH24I2yFC
Growth has to be sustainable, take into account ecological implications and ensure it benefits the broadest range of constituents. Not just the wealthy.
If in decarbonising the economy we destroy our already depleted ecosystems, we’ve failed.
@EnvAgencyAnglia Isn’t this a lovely reassurance. A three-part post with picture to announce the great news that EA didn’t find sewage in a sample from the #Deben on this occasion. However it rather implies that it’s a pretty novel occurrence.
@Feargal_Sharkey@Ofwat@EnvAgency Is it the revolving door? Relatively low pay job at EA with sod all resources for enforcement but keep your nose clean and spend the first half of your career avoiding WC prosecutions. Reward? A cosy job on a very good salary with the WC.
Cynical? Moi? I sincerely hope I’m wrong
