@tomallenstevens@PhilipCaseFW@SteveReedMP@oxfordfarming I don’t know why we keep inviting the politicians to speak. They never say anything useful or reliable. They should be invited to sit in the audience to listen, and to join the networking sessions to learn. But not speak. I think we are done with that.
@andrew_thin Simple flexible free market tenancy and planning regime would get you there quickly and get those with land available on board I’m sure - but the more you tighten or regulate it the more they will run for the hills.
Excellent presentation tonight from @NFUStweets on the Agricultural and Rural Communities (Scotland) Bill. Enabling objectives, linking food production, regen ag, nature restoration and rural communities. But is devil in the flexibility and the lack of commitment on the funding.
@ACMidgley The bit I don’t understand is “so and so tweeted” has become part of every day language. Even news stories quote it. So what will it become “he x’ed”??? Seems mad to throw it away.
I’m all for nature based solutions but foisting unremunerative obligations on the agricultural sector is not viable. Well done NFU Cymru leadership for taking a stand. Some lessons there. @AbiReader
Big news at the Royal Welsh from @NFUCymru today. Officeholders @AledNfu and @AbiReader say they won’t join the Sustainable Farming Scheme while the 10% tree cover requirement remains.

@overthefarmgate Yep totally and that is the dilemma or conundrum and why; like it not, supermarkets are vitally important in wide and effective distribution of food. If we all had to rely on farm shops (as appealing as that is) most of us would likely starve.
@ACL14@ScotlandRHShow It was truly an awesome event. I am still buzzing from watching it. What a showcase for Scottish agriculture, the sheep sector and shearing. It was such a pleasure to meet so many people from different countries with an interest in sheep and shearing. Thanks also to the sponsors.
Speaking at @qmscotland breakfast Cab Sec Marie Gougeon: ag policy route map update issued today - reaffirmed previous announcements for carbon audits & soil tests and announced new conditionality for beef calf scheme on calving interval. Looks like 2026 before anything much new.
