Some call Clock Yourself an exercise app. Some call it a brain game. Can’t it be both? Made by @MegLowryPT to make exercise fun. Scaleable for EVERYONE. $3USD
The Clock Yourself app trains FAST steps in UNANTICIPATED directions.
It is unapologetically 'low-tech", leveraging 12 coordinates of an imaginary clockface so there's no need to wire up mats & sensors.

📷 New podcast conversation!
I recently had the pleasure of joining The Proof podcast to talk about osteoporosis, bone health, and exercise — including what the science actually tells us (and what it doesn’t).

A thought provoking blog.
For those clinicians who haven’t considered this before; Clock Yourself is a metronome app dressed up with fun cognitive challenges to make exercises more engaging and improve adherence.
You can absolutely apply it to tendonopathy rehab.
What causes muscle inhibition in tendinopathy? Corticospinal inhibition, right?
And how do we fix it? Metronome stair climbing or calf or quads oscillations, right?
Well, it is not that simple
In this blog we unpack muscle inhibition in tendinopathy.

I use @clock_yourself app and some printouts I made. No fancy lights but I argue more mentally challenging and you get same reactiveness.

BJSM published a whopping big review on exercise and cognition.
#Exergames had the largest effect on general cognition and memory.
Clock Yourself is an exergame designed to make exercise fun while you work on your cognitive processing & stepping speed

@v_komisar I'll certainly check out Blue Sky.
Do they use it/promote it at academic conferences?
TBH I haven't attended a conference in 7 years now.
It might be time to re-engage!
Hi colleagues.
Sorry for my absence. I intended to take a short hiatus from twitter when Elon got involved, and then I just didn't miss it.
@MegLowryPT was deleted at some point🤷♀️
Is this there a better platform for academic/professional exchange or is this still it?
@rirish15272775 I've been living under a rock, rather deliberately. (Recovering from cancer, self-rehab post buttockectomy, and then raising a delightful toddler).
Needless to say I have never even heard of Bluesky.
But I'll check it out. Thank you.

@stable_program I think we should prioritise volitional step training and cross step training in unanticipated directions, but I still think clients benefit from working on single limb balance and uneven surfaces, as it helps with weight shift, pivot for change of direction and momentum control.
@RobOusbey Hi Rob. I'm sorry I deleted twitter back when it was twitter. Just logged on now. Check Google Play. The new version should be suitable for your device.
Delighted to see that our paper is one of the most downloaded articles @JBiomech
Great to know that so many people are interested in it and hoping that calculation, interpretation and reporting become more consistent with time!
@effies1961@KiwiFunknuckle@Coles Are you sure? QLD health give their staff one additional paid day off (the day after Boxing Day). That’s worth a lot of money.
