@Drax_AD@stardusthome The second season contains perhaps the greatest sequence of episodes and the greatest single episode I have ever seen in any show ever. Yes, the season starts slow. But oh my god is the payoff huge.
@MineralCup Corundum, forever and always. This rock is one of my favorite rocks of all time. Picture found on a random Twitter post in Japanese, only calling it a gneiss. Giant sapphire crystals in the matrix, each surrounded by a reaction texture. I know nothing about where it’s from.
@MineralCup https://t.co/WyuMXUKeOo From a past mincup, in addition to all of the countless uses of #Zircon for geology as a science, it also fluoresces!
@MineralCup And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention just how brightly this fluoresces in long wave UV… My room light was on through this whole video.
@MineralCup And also this ruby crystal that Jeff Post showed me in the blue room of the Smithsonian. The bright red spot is being hit with long wave UV light, showing the ruby’s fluorescence.
Does jadeite have many uses in geology, biology, and the medical field? Is it studied for use in heavy metal remediation? Useful to agriculture?? Found in living things and different geological environments all around the world? No? Then vote #Fluorapatite
