@cwicker001 I think my biggest issue with standardized tests is the amount of weight placed on a single data point. I think a practical first step could be smaller, more frequent testing opportunities. Certainly not the perfect fix, but could be a start.
@EDTdunbar@shelleykoon I agree that the lack of personal connection is particularly detrimental for early childhood. We already talk about kids relying on tech for entertainment/socializing - I think relying on AI in classrooms would worsen the problem #wuedt6020
@shelleykoon I think a drawback of AI is the lack of personal connection/social dynamics. While AI can provide facts, it may struggle to provide culturally relevant and inclusive curricula #wuedt6020
@HSmith_E129 I find that more students hand in the work digitally because they can hand it in from anywhere. I get lots of evening or non-class day submissions that maybe I would not get otherwise #wuedt6020
@Jill90772834992 An example of adaptive learning I'm familiar with is Pearson Learning Labs. While geared towards science curriculum, I think it is a great example of real-time feedback, critical thinking, and real-life applications! #wuedt6020
@banker_suz5899 I think technology based games can be a great tool for kindergarten! I think it can help teach them meaningful ways to use technology - use technology as a tool, not just entertainment! #wuedt6020
@daphne_WU_EDT@tompgavin I've never used Jamboard with my students, but it is something I saved to try next year! I like how user friendly it is and how easy it is to incorporate images from Google or Drive.
@mgodwin921@tompgavin I love using Google Slides + Docs, especially the edit history feature. It makes justifying group grades significantly easier. I also like the commenting feature for live feedback!
@tompgavin I use Padlet to promote student engagement and asynchronous discussions. I like it because it is free, easy to use, and offers various layouts to make it more organized.
@shelleykoon@tompgavin Thanks for pointing out that simulators can give immediate feedback while being hands-on. Youβve persuaded me to look for some simulations!
@Jill90772834992@tompgavin I think exploring gamification would be a great way to implement technology in a kindergarten classroom! Iβm sure the students would enjoy it too.
@tompgavin I would love to implement virtual reality in my classroom. I think it would be a great tool to help students gain new experiences and practice their new skills. #wuedt6020
