For the last 14 years I have been running a Nyambura Scholarship (in memory of my late mother) for high school students from Limuru. For this year's cohort, one of them has been admitted to the University and is in urgent need of a laptop and a phone. Anyone in Kenya or going to Kenya with either to spare? It will go a long way.
Along the same lines more generally, if traveling to Kenya or in Kenya and can help, let me know as there is serious need for tech. In a small way we can level the playing field for the Nyambura scholarship kids.
I do not have the bandwidth to "hold space" to discuss CCTV privacy violations when children have been literally murdered where they sleep. Good for you who can, but I cannot, and I have zero apologies to make for that
Whatever happened on that fateful day is the exact reason why they have CCTV cameras in those dormitories. Were it not for that footage, everyone would be peddling all manner of rumors around.
As long as they are not secret cameras, there’s nothing wrong with that.
Seemingly spoken by ignorant idlers. The right to life alongside property are the most sancrosant in the constitution, They are both superior to the right to privacy. Devoid of the CCTVs, we would not have known the cause, the motive, even Paratrators.
Mko too woke.
It is not the entire staffroom that views those cctv footages. It is just the principal. In the principal's office. That is the rule and that has always been the rule. We have just seen a murder take place, we have seen kids sleep kwa corridors. Wacheni hizo bana.
Those citing privacy concerns should remember that incidents like this are exactly why CCTV cameras in dormitory corridors became mandatory. Article 24 exists for a reason, and schools are required by the Ministry of Education to comply, there’s no debate about it.
@xysist@Kalasinga_ I dont think network hogging causes this,YouTube uses Google’s global CDN,Netflix has local cache servers but Meta uses regional points of presence, the nearest is in Mumbai from a tests I have run
