Free trade > protectionism.
Always and everywhere. Human history shows that.
The Liberal Party must never give in to the economic fallacy that we would be better off with tariffs and subsidies, rather than being globally competitive.

. @football_stg does it best. Fantastic vibe and scenes at our Premier League 1 Men’s final over the weekend.
It was a close match up between Dolls Point Football Club and @arncliffeaurora with Dolls Point winning the final in the end.
A big showdown and great atmosphere. Grassroots Football in St George knows how to do it best.

"A GST on school fees has little, if anything, to do with productivity. It is old-fashioned ideology dressed up as high policy principle, with embarrassingly thin arguments and logical fallacies – such as that extra GST revenue is required to better fund public schools – when those proposing the change know the enrolment shift will only add pressure to the public schools they champion."
In yesterday's Australian Financial Review, the CSNSW CEO expressed serious concerns about a proposal that would reduce parental choice and limit access to Catholic schools: imposing GST on school fees.
This proposal is nominally presented as a productivity measure, though it is undoubtedly supported by our critics because it is an additional barrier to a Catholic education. Indeed, when this policy was adopted in the UK, it had a devastating effect on non-government school enrolments, while failing to meet its target.

@peter_tulip I believe council planners should assume everything is correct when reviewing DAs, but put in place big penalties for non-compliant developments.
In essence, you’ll see approvals skyrocket, but builders and developers that break the rules, fined significantly.
Sad to see @cokeefe9 hang up the mic. Easily one of the best journos and people you could meet. He will smash it whatever he turns his attention to. Good luck mate.
