@jessliotta It’s the WORST. I recently had the jarring experience of visiting our local Oakland Safeway after a few weeks away and discovering that it has basically been converted into a cage - security gates at every cash, one point of entry and exit, and a very serious security guard 😑

@jessliotta Yuuuuup. For me as a kid, identity experimentation manifested as wanting to go by a different version/spelling of my name for a while. My parents went with it, and so it didn’t feel Weird (or at least, not *more* weird than anything during that period).
