@rainbowrowell I thought Lincoln figuring out Beth was talking about him in Attachments had similar energy; I was kicking my feet and squealing at that whole section
Here's the latest on TS Nicholas, which is nearing the Texas coast on Monday morning. The storm is now expected to keep moving once inland, which should help to slightly mitigate rain totals. But it's still going to be a mess, with flooding, for Houston.

Did my dad help you on September 11, 2001? If so, I'm trying to find you. (a thread)
On September 11th, 2001 my dad caught a flight in Ohio to fly home to Denver. He was there on business and was anxious to get home to see his family. (1/11)
I would gladly lose 100 followers if it meant that just one person—maybe that's you, kind human reading this?—who was on the fence got vaccinated today.
One of the leader’s (or owner’s) biggest challenges is to make good decisions, with confidence, and stick to them through tough times in implementation. #caesolves#fridaythoughts
@godcloudJR For some reason, your excitement for this show made it into my dream last night. I dreamt you hyped it so well @byBethRankin wrote an article for cat5 about it. My brain is a weird place & I thought you’d appreciate it.
@mrsnirvamandi I’ve spent most of my life thinking, “What am I DOING here?” Existential crises just happen to also have real world/career applications.
@mrsnirvamandi Depends on what you’re writing/saying, but a piece of advice that never fails is: what’s your goal with this conversation/email/document?
@chzbacon I knew you wouldn’t do it on purpose. You’re no jerk! & I always welcome your two cents.
The key is, as with everything, balance. And to make sure that, as diligent as we plan our next moves, we make sure to save energy/time for the actual moving.
Planning is not doing. Planning can look like doing. It can fool us and help us procrastinate but still feel productive. But planning alone doesn’t achieve results. Only doing does.
@chzbacon Oh but it’s from a friend and former colleague who seriously inspires me with what he’s accomplished, and his tweet seriously hit a nerve with me re: how I’ve been treating my to-do list lately. Also I knew saying what I said would make him laugh 😁
@godcloudJR Your friends love & care for you, I’m sure at least one (even if it’s just me!) would volunteer to cook a diet-complicit meal to share together.
@godcloudJR But I think it’s totally ok to pout! It’s ok to be a bit sour. It sucks feeling left out. Another thing that helped me is asking my friends to help out. They’ll cook things just for me, or make an effort to cater to my allergy.
@godcloudJR Not 100% in the same vein, but I have a food allergy that’s done the same thing to me. I skipped thanksgiving bc I pouted that I wouldn’t be able to eat any of the food. What helps is bringing something I can eat that makes me happy. Not sure if that’s something you can do.
Strangely, life gets harder when you try to make it easy.
Exercising might be hard, but never moving makes life harder.
Uncomfortable conversations are hard, but avoiding every conflict is harder.
Mastering your craft is hard, but having no skills is harder.
Easy has a cost.
