Joe Mazulla says he got rejected for the Utah Jazz head coaching job because he tried too hard to win the interview, and says he’ll never wear a suit again on an interview
“The first thing I learned? I’m never wearing a suit again. I wore one there, and I felt too uncomfortable. I was like, I’m never doing this again.”
“What I learned was, throughout that interview process, I didn’t take full ownership of my coaching identity. I kind of went in hesitant.”
“Instead of 100% being myself, wanting to win the interview. I didn’t do a good enough job owning myself. Which I think is very important.”
“There’s having an identity. There’s knowing yourself. But then there’s conviction of, like, this is what I believe in. This is what my identity and philosophy is. And you’re convicted to that. I didn’t bring that. And that’s what I took out of that.”
Life is fucking electric bro. Don’t fall for the doomer shit. Thats for losers and normies scared of their own shadows. Walk around like God sent you and smile at everyone you see. Spread light and abundance. Build things and take chances. This is the best time in history!
So many teams don’t even have tradable picks right now that the “Clippers have no picks, they’re fucked” argument is laughable when you actually look at the books.
Forfeiting draft capital is bad, no excuses. But having cap space matters. 2nds are always available, 1sts move on draft night, especially with the aprons.
There are ways to get better. The Clippers just have to grind a little harder.
One of Kevin Samuels’ most prolific clips and it still rings true today because too many Black men have made sexual access their identity & scoreboard for manhood. At some point you have to get that hypersexuality out your system, grow up, and find something real to be proud of.
This is a tough one
LOCKS:
- Darius Garland
- Keaton Wagler
- Brandon Ingram
- Rui Hachimura
Could realistically pick any 4 from roster:
- Max Strus
- YKN
- Jordan Miller
- Baba?

A while back, I had an idea I was convinced would work.
Years ago, Nike ran its “Signature Moves” series — short films breaking down the details behind great offensive skills.
I wanted to make the defensive version.
Not just defensive highlights. The actual techniques great defenders repeatedly use:
The Reach Around Steal.
The Sniper Steal.
The Catch Steal.
The Wide Steal.
The Stunt Steal.
The Gap Block.
The Top Lock.
Defense presented the same way that offense was and is: as a craft worth studying.
So I made the series.
And… it never really took off.
Some videos did fine. Most didn’t. Eventually, I stopped making them. But looking back, I still love the idea.
Because one of the things I’ve always wanted to do with Lockdown Defense is make defense feel like a skill players actually WANT to learn.
Something worth studying.
Something worth practicing.
Something cool.
Something that might even interrupt a player's feed full of shooting workouts and dribble moves.
Maybe the series didn't work.
Or maybe I just haven't figured out the right way to do it yet.
Either way, I still believe great defenders have signature moves too.
Here are some of my favorite:

For my Los Angeles Clippers followers
This has been a very difficult time for everybody associated with the Clippers, and for that, I have sincere regrets. I want to apologize to our fans, employees, and my fellow NBA team owners for the distraction and distress this matter has caused, for which I accept responsibility as principal owner.
We are committing to put this chapter behind us. We have communicated to the NBA that we are complying with the penalties assessed by the league, have paid the fine, and are moving forward. While there are still disagreements concerning the findings in the report, this is not where I want to focus. Team owners should support, not distract.
The challenges ahead of us are significant, but so is our resolve. We will continue to build our team and invest in our community. The confidence of our fans is our priority. With our talented roster, outstanding staff and clear vision, I am certain that we will compete at the highest level and be an organization our fans can be proud of.
