Not sure folks are effectively processing the insanity of the fact that an American citizen was murdered by the federal government in broad daylight, and that the federal government is now engaging in a cover up.
And it’s so pathetic that they’ve managed to convince the same people that they’re taking advantage of that it’s actually a mark of honor that you have to pay extreme prices to watch your team play. That the more billions the league and the owners make, reflects well on you.
I care too much about how meaningful sports can be to people’s lives and the role it can be play in elevating the joys of living and community to just kneel down in front of the market and praise the way this country turns everything into its worst version for money.
A working class person shouldn’t have to save for weeks or months to go to one game to see their favorite team. It shouldn’t cost a paycheck to buy food at the stadiums. You don’t have to charge the maximum amount for people to park. People should be able to afford sports.
I love sports probably more than most people but going to games in this country becoming a luxury event more than an affordable one really is a shame. It not only because it squeezes fans for every dollar to profit billionaire owners but it only just kills the energy.
