The NHL Alumni Association is heartbroken to learn that Raymond Sawada has passed away at the young age of 38.
Sawada was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2004 @NHL Entry Draft to the @DallasStars. He played 11 games with the team, scoring a point.
Raymond’s love for the game continued on after his NHL career with his involvement in the Burnaby, BC community, and coaching his two daughters. He was a dedicated and hard-working firefighter, family man, and incredible friend.
We send our deepest condolences to his wife Nicole, daughters Victoria and Charlotte, his family, and friends during this very difficult time.
Our condolences to Nicole, daughters Victoria & Charlotte, brother Stephen, & parents Jack & Regina.
Ray Sawada was a well known & respected member of the Richmond community and a Sockeye Alumni.
A GoFundMe is established to help his family.

RIP Ray
Heart breaking news. Ray was an idol for a lot of Richmond Minor Players growing up. Not only was Ray a successful hockey player, he was a community hero and local firefighter. Thoughts and prayers to his family.

With every mile Terry endures terrible pain. He finally goes to a hospital; cancer has returned. It is the last day of the Marathon of Hope.
Journal entry: "21 miles. 3,339 miles."
Honour Terry's Try today. https://t.co/MAKFD0E1c6
Ryan Reaves, flanked by his teammates and rivals in the Western Conference, made a powerful statement about what the two day NHL playoff suspension means, and why it's important, especially from the predominantly white league
