Lesson plans are important, and pedagogy matters... but some of the most important work of teachers, might not be captured by a plan. When teachers encourage, support, inspire, care about, and connect with their students... they are engaged in work that transcends the “plan.”
Some kids are easy to connect with. They’re friendly, and they’re comfortable talking to adults. Those kids probably don’t need you as much as the ones who are a little awkward. It might be harder to connect with them... but don’t give up. There’s a good chance they’re lonely.
We're madly in love with this cartoon illustration from Carlisle Robinson who created this for #DeafLGBTQWeek! Carlisle is Deaf and Trans. Follow them over at @carodoodles.

Disclaimer: have not seen A Quiet Place yet. Am planning on it. I’m thrown off by all the articles saying it has almost no dialogue. When I write lines to be expressed in sign language, it’s still dialogue. It’s just not spoken. The two are not mutually exclusive.
I enjoyed using Google Classroom for quizzes, multiple choice questions, and short answer questions. It’s a great platform that offers multiple ways of assessment #UMEdtech#M4
Had fun playing with Quizlet Live today. Quizlet has helped me many times throughout high school and college, so it’s interesting to find out new ways to use it in my own classroom! #umedtech#M3
Loved finding out about the Smart Exchange website! Found an interactive presentation that I’m using in my lesson plans for another class! #UMEdTech#m2
