In this I find a great reminder that no matter what worries and woes I may be experiencing in life, the great gift of the Eucharist always remains as an opportunity for joy - for encountering Christ present still in our churches and chapels in the Eucharist.

Recently been using St. John Henry Newman’s “A Short Visit to the Blessed Sacrament” as a prayer in my Holy Hours. He concludes this beautiful prayer by addressing the Eucharistic Lord as his “everlasting joy.”
