@ElChandler One of my WIPs' whole thing is that there are a bunch of different character POVs. I think it'll end up being 10-12 and I have no regrets haha!

@StevenTBoers63 I have a WIP right now that also deals with a lot of characters. I think the play for me is giving each of them a chapter to shine, but also pairing them up with other characters strategically. In my story, not every character needs extended time with every other character.
@KAWildeAuthor Fictional city always! It allows for the most amount of creative control in my world building. Also, just my opinion, but it's way more memorable!
@bybribishop I specialize in short stories, so I LOVE writing multiple genres! I'm self-published, so the main drawback is it's really hard to tell people why they should read my stuff. I don't have a specific audience or hook that makes me unique, but I can't imagine only writing one genre.
Readers!
Would you like to review a #shortstorycollection for all ages? One that explores all kinds of different themes and settings?
No plans yet, but I might be looking to assemble an elite team of book reviewers for my next release!

@AngelaWrites70@klhicks912 True! But it also brings up thoughts of, "is this book even good?" Like maybe lack of interest just means my stories are not worth telling. I started this whole thing just to see if I could publish a book, but I love writing so much that now I don't want to stop.
It just occurred to me that I made a “whimsical” short story collection for “all ages”. But every story involves death, destruction or tragedy in some way.
What is wrong with me?

@theGrimWriter I'm really limiting my audience here but I really don't see myself doing horror or spicy romance books. I like to be wholesome and it would be REALLY cringe if I wrote stuff like that haha!
@Tife_read I'm writing a short story collection right now and for me it's all about efficiently and skillfully getting my messages across. Some parts just don't feel utilized well. For one of my stories, I might have to rearrange some fundamental things, which is a little scary.
@SsempalaEd23472 In an upcoming book I'm writing, I went down a huge rabbit hole on how ancient people used to dive to the bottom of a body of water. No regrets, I learned a lot!
@NikoleCallihan I currently don't rely on my book for income at all, but I have gotten comments from loved ones about how much they enjoyed it. Even if they're lying, if just one person got something out of it, I'm happy. I write to make my mark and share my perspective with whoever will listen.
Story Idea: A little goldfish who can't remember a single thing that is said to him, and he lives in constant anxiety because of it.
It'll be called: My Autobiography
