🚨 BREAKING 🚨 Cornell University Police detains at least 16 students and community members at peaceful walkout in protest of war criminals on our campus.
This is fascism.
Yesterday @Cornell finally expunged my disciplinary record for taking part in a pro-Palestine protest after - I was forced into hiding for 3 months, self-deported from the US, and had my visa revoked.
B*st*rds.
Understand: the sharpening of repression is only a distraction from the genocide. Know: Retreating into the institution is not safety. Refusal to act is not safety. Sitting quietly for your finals is not safety. These betrayals will not save you from imperial violence.
“If I die, I want a resounding death. I do not want me in urgent news, nor in a number with a group. I want a death that the world hears, an effect that remains for the extent of the ages, and immortal images that neither time nor space buries."

🚨17 VISAS REVOKED AT CORNELL UNIVERSITY, ADMIN SAYS NOTHING - The policies in place are paper thin, we need protections for immigrant students NOW ‼️ Send Cornell admin an email: https://t.co/a4R1IzHTbG
Universities, prior to the Trump administration, ended due process for students, making it easier to arrest, discipline, suspend, expel, and fire students. This criminalization paved the way for Trump's visa-revocations and deportations. The two systems work together.
Well that’s a relief. Just to let you know how insane ICE operate. They knew they didn’t have any grounds to deport me, so they tried (after I sued Trump) to subpoena all my social media. We were preparing a motion to quash but I learnt this morning that they have decided to withdraw the subpoena.
Meet Christina Liang, Director of Cornell OSCCS & the woman whose words ICE used to deport Momodou Taal.
OSCCS has served as a key arm of Cornell’s repressive regime. Will Cornell continue to let their words be used to deport their students? We’re watching.
Even before his lawsuit, Cornell University student Momodou Taal suspected that he was going to be a target under the Trump administration. “I felt more and more as the lawsuit progressed that I was gambling with my freedom.”

The first procedural hearing for the fed. lawsuit @MomodouTaal filed March 15 concluded in Syracuse about 30 minutes ago. About 150 people showed. Two over flow rooms were filled. @EricLeeAtty, lead counsel on the case and Taal’s lawyer, speaks to the crowd outside court house.
🧵Powerful statement by Jewish Cornell students, faculty & alumni opposing Trump's claim that Momodou Taal has created a "hostile environment for Jewish students" by protesting for Palestine.

Solidarity requires concrete action — show up for my dear comrade @MomodouTaal. Demand the demilitarization of campuses and refuse to let genocide become a normalized backdrop to your daily life!
