CMS Conf - where "just use WordPress" and "just use Drupal" fans fight in the same room, on purpose. Nov 12–14, Gdynia. Platform-agnostic, opinion-abundant
Well, this is embarrassing — we're a dev conf, and we forgot to set up X.
In our defense, we were arguing elsewhere about whether CMSs count as "real" development.
Sorry, gift: CTRL-ALT-DISCOUNT — 20% off CMS Conf.

@thomkrupa@astrodotbuild Getting 100/100 with @astrodotbuild is dead simple ;) That's not a challenge at all.
Cool starter.
PS. Are you coming to CMS Conf? If so, use the cmsconf40 coupon :)
@stresixcom Very interesting.
It would be interesting, though, to run all of them in a "production mode" with proper configuration.
I would love to such results.
@adriankuleszo@ausrobdev Sometimes, even making sure the clients understand why they need to wait to see the change on production.
But I agree - connecting a headless CMS is simple it just requires some things to remember about.
I already mentioned it in a separate answer https://t.co/cmGBBPGkNa
@ausrobdev Connecting a headless CMS to Astro is very simple.
BUT... making it work well, taking care of previews, adding tips for users to remember to publish content (or set up webhooks), and maintaining the CMS - that's the more difficult part.

@swissky@EmDashCMS@WPTutz That's the cool part of being at the start of the journey - it allows for more flexibility. And this post is a great example: a tweet became a feature.
And I love how you are using this flexibility to improve EmDash in such a fashion.
@EmDashCMS@Iamkingsleyf@Cloudflare Coming from WP, I would say that figuring out the model would be very valuable. The number of vulnerable paid plugins in WP was always astonishing
@ryanwelcher WOW - and I thought that WP Playground was already the peak of helping people to contribute.
Also, thanks to tools like this we can spend Contributor Day contributing, instead of setting everything up.
@apeatling Personally, I would prefer a bit of a different route. Using WP as a local-first CMS, with a command to convert it to static and deploy it to CF Pages, for example.
Local-first CMSs are very useful in some cases.
@apeatling Amazing research.
It's funny in a way. I feel that humans pick WP too often (even when CMS is not needed), but the fact that LLMs are ignoring it is also totally wrong.
Although I tested a few prompts and WP was mentioned (mostly as SaaS, so dot com) as an option.
I'll be speaking at @CMSconf_ in Gdynia this November!
I’m looking forward to meeting new people from other CMS communities, but also to catch up with familiar faces from the #WordPress community, all of whom will be speaking; Mike Miler, @Bovelett, @rmelogli, @RaitisSevelis, @DjevaLoperka, Marcel Bootsman, and many others.
I'll also be giving a talk about WordPress session hijacking, and why securing the login process alone isn't always enough.
If you're attending, come say hello!
And if you haven't booked your ticket yet, you can get €30 off your ticket with this coupon code: CTRL-ALT-DISCOUNT.
