First visit to Butrint, the astonishing Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine and Venetian site in #Albania - supported by the Butrint Foundation, Rothschild Foundation and @TheLinburyTrust amongst others. The archives are held @WaddesdonManor looked after by @cmstaylor
@DaneAnne@JTullock Sorry I failed to come back to X and have notifications turned off. Thank you for looking - all I know is they signed the Visitors' Book for those dates. Egerton House was Jeanne Clayton's though and she's also there!
Any thoughts on who's signature this might be? A visitor to Waddesdon on 20-22 July 1929 alongside Mary, Princess Royal, Lascelles, Margaret Greville of Polesden Lacey, the Bessboroughs and some Rothschilds... #Archives#VisitorsBook#signatures
@MoJGovUK Digitisation to improve access is great - though I'd love to see indexing on that scale that is accurate and works! Destroying most of the originals afterwards is an idiotic proposal and tantamount to vandalism - digital preservation on this scale is not a permanant option!
@MoJGovUK This is a profound mistake. Despite leading so much #digitalpreservation good practice and capability, the UK is about 20 years away from having the qualifird leadership and competence in depth to approach a project like this. I know about these things. This is a mistake.
Such a great thing to celebrate and wonderful to see people in person - and remember how tall some of them are! It's been a pleasure to be involved. Now I really ought to actually get that application in... #ArchivesAccreditn10
